Official official offseason thread

I tend to agree. If we don't have the money to land Turner or Correa, I say trade for Amed Rosario. Shouldn't cost a ton in prospect capital given that he's a rental and isn't an offensive force.

Our old friend Elvis Andrus also provided strong production this year. Not my favorite option, but we could do worse. Kyle Farmer is also an option that shouldn't cost much. He's from the Atlanta area too.

Yelich's contract is absolutely awful, no thanks. I like the idea of Adames or Rosario as a short-term solution though.
 
Jon Heyman wrote that the Dodgers are doing a lot of research on Correa in case Turner goes elsewhere. At the end of the article is this:

"As for Turner, the latest rumor has the Braves as a possible fit if they fail to keep the Atlanta product Swanson (they also like Correa). The Cardinals, Phillies and Red Sox are among other potential spots closer to his supposed geographic preference (he’s from Lake Worth, Fla.; his wife New Jersey)."

Man, if AA got Correa or Turner... Correa doesnt cost a pick, and Swanson would net us one, im not saying.
 
AA can play at any level he wants at this point. Dansby is his first choice but he knows like we do how streaky he is and when his defense goes most of his value does to so hopefully he doesn’t overpay him to keep the fans happy after the FF stuff. I’m hoping for Correa and a good bullpen arm and to try to dump Ozuna.

COVID year we didnt do much and money was iffy across baseball so i dont blame him much there

We kinda knew it was Olson or FF but Jansen did come out of nowhere

Jansen was probably the come outta nowhere move, given how AA has hoarded prospects i was surprised we got Olson. But you are right it was either gonna be FF or Olson.

Good call, I forgot about Correa not having a pick attached. That’s a nice little bonus to going that route if we do.
 
I’m not saying he’s bad, but he’s not my favorite SS as a free agent. If the Braves are going to spend big money on a SS and not bring back Dansby, my personal preference would be Turner.

I agree if we're gonna spend big, i'd rather have Turner than Correa. Just get one of the top 4 shortstops and figure the rest out later.
 
The rumor is Trea Turner wants to be back on the east coast and closer to home in Florida. I think Turner is gonna be the dude.
