Official official offseason thread

2 years/34 mil for Rizzo with a team option on the 3rd year. 3/39 for Anderson could be a holy moly steal if he's fixed.

I guess AA and Swanson could still be negotiating but it just doesnt feel like it to me. So the question becomes, Who is the SS next year?

me either. Though, I clearly know nothing lol but I’m fine either way. I like Dansby but I don’t really mind if he leaves.

Agreed. There are better options than Morton at $20m. If that prevents us from getting Swanson Correa Turner or Boegarts we ****ed up

It's just 1 year but if we're strapped for cash and cant do anything because of Morton's deal plus all the extensions... AA was misguided.

This one is odd in the fact that Santana doesn’t have an option either. I figured Jackson would be replaced with someone they could shuttle

Swanson is officially a FA. It’ll be interesting to see what happens now that everything is opened up.

Im sure AA knows what he is doing and Im equally sure he prepared for the steps that Swanson would or would not make. With the payroll situation as it is right now I dont see any of the Big 4 SSs coming to Atlanta so what is next.

I think AA has an open check book to get whoever he wants to be honest. If he thinks Turner is the best fit long term or Correa then I think that’s the route he goes. We’ve been cheap for so long that it spoiled us to it. Now things have changed and we are a top team with a big budget and it’s weird but in a good way. He knows what Dansbys value is going forward and just bc he won’t pay for that value it doesn’t mean he won’t pay Turner for his.

I dont see AA paying what Turner wants but i'd be glad to be wrong.

It's conceivable that the FO didn't understand the implications on the cap number when they signed all those extensions. I would be very disappointed in AA for being so ignorant, but it wouldn't be a major shock.

It's also conceivable that the Braves are going to blow past the salary cap and it doesn't matter.

I truly wouldn't be shocked by anything anymore now that this team is generating so much revenue.
