Official official offseason thread

I was listening to MLB Network Radio this morning and they brought up an interesting point about Verlander last season. Verlander only pitched on 5 days rest about 5 times last season. Every other start had at least 6 days of rest because it came after an off day in the schedule or he was pushed back to give him extra rest.

It will be interesting to see how the Mets handle him throughout the season.

Well they used a 6 man rotation for much of the season. They had that luxury. Unfortunately the Mets likely don't have the same depth to pull it off, and will clearly feel more urgency to get him out there every 5th day.

Lol Jesus. Can’t wait to see a full season of Grissom at short…

I just don't think there is any way they play Grissom there in anything other than a spot starter roll.

Someone else will play majority of games as SS for the Braves next season.

I wanted Turner but 11 years? That contract will be rough when his speed starts to go. His defense has gotten worse the past couple of years. Correas bat will be the best of the 4. I’m thinking Dansby at 6/140 doesn’t look as bad lol. Phillies will be tough next year. No way we go with Grissom/Arcia at SS.

Arica? Maybe a platoon of Arica and Grissom?

I agree with you but I think this is the reason why they had Wash work with Grissom on his ss defense this off-season. 11/300 is the top of the market for a ss but I can’t imagine Correa will be behind him by that much. And then even the next tier below them (Xander and Dansby) will still be quite a bit. I’m not sure how much, but still probably too rich for us.
