Official official offseason thread

We still have several weeks of nothing to talk about. I am fine with anything at this point. **** are we dog fans or cats. I like the independence of cats. But the love and attention a dog has is far superior.

I don't like cats, but I respect them. Dogs get food, water, shelter and attention, but in exchange they surrender a certain amount of their dignity (which they're happy to do, of course). Cats get food, water, shelter and attention, and in exchange they're aloof dicks who hate their owners. It's an impressive grift.

How long does Profar stay unsigned before he takes a nice one year deal?

He’d help solve LF concerns and provide infield depth. Although, I imagine his value would be wasted on manager Captain 162’s roster.

St Louis paper reporting Chip Caray interviewed and is heavily involved in the Cardinals play by play TV job.

Would be the best news of the offseason.

If this happens, I hope Ben Ingram or Jim Powell land the gig. I like both

I still don't get the Chip hate. He does a good job and has his sneaky funny moments. I am not sure what people expect from a play by play guy... but I have listended to a lot of horrible ones that make Chip look like Howard C.

Having someone that isn't a "the game sucks nowadays" buffoon is all I really want in an announcer. Why organizations think it's OK to have the voice of the sport constantly telling people how terrible modern baseball is will always baffle me. Do you ever hear NFL announcers complain about new rules, or that modern players are soft? No, that's something an idiot would say about the source of his own livelihood. "Waaah, baseball sucks without bunting....why is attendance and viewership down?....HIGH FLY BALL!!!!! caught 15' in front of the wall....derrrrrrp they brought us a philly cheesesteak!".

How about a guy who understands modern baseball, and can explain why it's interesting? How about a guy who can read a flyball off the bat and not think every ball hit in the air is a potential HR?

I thought Powell was cutting back to spend more time with family? That's why Ingram has gotten to call more and more.

I would be ecstatic if we got Brian Anderson but he's already cut back his Milwaukee schedule to do more NBA games for TNT and other assignments for Turner.

100% this.

Monster roster outside of LF. Still makes it confusing we're basically punting LF.
