I wouldn't bank on that... if AA can clear some more payroll dealing a combination of Ender and/or Greene and/or Melancon I fully expect them to go after one of them.

Which is where we should always be considering our market is the 9th largest.
We shouldn’t be a top 5 payroll but always should be between 7-12ish depending on how well we are drawing/winning.
I think Ozuna will kill it this year if he stays healthy. I also do not think we are done.
We could trade Ender, Greene and cut Duvall....and that would pretty much cover what we pay to Ozuna if need be.

I agree. If he did want Arenado he could have them take one of Greene or MM back to cut the salary down and with all the money coming off the books next year we could easily fit him in. And again, the better the prospects the more money they’ll have to eat on the deal.
He’s projected for 3 wins.

If that’s the case, and we trade for KB/Arenado then we’ll likely see Markakis full time.

Definitely Markakis + KB/Arenado. Although the pen weakens a bit and the bench is one bat shallower.
I do not think it is likely, BUT if the right deal presents itself....we have the flexibility to pull it off.
We'd still have Duvall. So I'm hopeful Snit will platoon Duvall with Neck properly.

I’m not that high on Greene anyway, but he does hold value. I think he could be replaced decently easy.
I don’t think we get Bryant at all. Too much surplus value to make up. Arenado would be the play. We have a 3rd base prospect ready to play in Riley, and a outfielder that can cover ground in that big park and plenty of pitching.
If Arenado keeps it up and weakens their position...I could see AA make a play.
Can you imagine if we added Ozuna and Arenado while still retaining Waters, Pache and Anderson for the future. That would be impressive in the present AND the future.

Ozuna isn’t projected for 2 WAR. pretty easy.
I wouldn’t be surprised it we offered more years, but he has seen those big deals and wants one next year. I think he will end up being the best signing and will we will HATE seeing him leave on a big deal next year.
I do see that he is projected for 3. Possible but unlikely given he's only reached that level twice in seven years. But let's go with the 3, adding 2 War is worth $16MM, not $18MM plus the pick. So yes, I am correct, but sorry, all of us can't be.
