That guy didn't break the Betts trade. He had been saying the Betts trade was done like 3 months ago. He also got the players wrong and said that Bryant to the Braves was a done deal. He's a well documented guy who makes all sorts of insider claims and then deletes every tweet on his account every time it doesn't work out... then he changes his Twitter name and starts all over again. It was rumored for like 2 weeks now that Betts was going to the Dodgers... not exactly out on a limb.

I've run the numbers and there is approximately a 1.38174% chance of that trade happening, but if it did the White Sox might go from a 77 win team to a solid 82 win team. Might be worth it.
If you can't tell, I'm the low man on the White Sox next season lol. I think the Twins and even the Indians are still significantly better than them.
So the chisox are the padres of the AL

Take out Quintana and Waters and I like the deal. I would like to keep Riley but more than happy to cash in on Wright.

Don't get me wrong, he'd fit perfectly right now and I'd love to add him - just not backing up the truck for him. Matt Chapman on the other hand...
Seems like the Cubs fans are just high in general.
Too steep for my liking - whether it fits the value models is always another story. Andujar's 3B defense is going to be close to historically bad and we've already got a 1B with Ozuna hitting behind him this year.
Swap out Wright for Newk and I'm all in - Riley can take over 3B when the DH comes, and you can use Culberson or Hech over there in the late innings for defense at least this year.
Completely against my nature, but I think THIS is the year AA gets rewarded for his patience. Riley and Wright finally take that last step forward, and when you add the two of them, Pache, and Waters to the roster full-time in 2021 he's going to be *hitting financial flexibility all over the yard.
Remember when they use to pop into Scout on a semiregular basis wanting to trade all of our best players for Felix Pie?
