Randomness of postseason baseball is crazy.
Bright side is we only have to face Wheeler and Nola once but that still doesn’t mean we will move on.
Hopefully Strider comes back so we can have he and Wright vs thier aces and Max takes care of business game 1.
 
Bring on the Phillies! Every team has a chance in the postseason but I'd be really shocked if they beat us in a five-game series. The Braves are clearly better and by quite a bit at that.
 
Spencer is my biggest concern. I hope he can go and is not too rusty if he does because he's absolutely owned the Phillies this season. 21.1 IP, 1.27 ERA, .097 OBA

This is also a big concern as well. Mariners/Astros might get one of the earlier games but no way we get a primetime slot with Dodgers vs NY/SD and the Yankees.
 
On paper, we clearly have a big advantage. Rotation is close, but our bullpen is much better. The top of their line-up isn't that far behind ours, but their 7-9 is really weak. Defensively, we are much better. Still and all, there's a reason they play the games.

Their offense isnt too far behind ours, rotation is about even 1-3 given we dont hit Suarez well at all. We do have a bullpen advantage but theirs isnt exactly garbage. Wont be an easy series especially if we have to play alot of early games which we suck at.

Yep. That’d be on what Friday in Philly? That’d give him 6 more days of rest. If we don’t think the oblique will hold up for 100 pitches a game they may have to think about him being closer through the playoffs to take some stress off.

Yeah no game on Thursday. Sounds like he should be ready but nothing for certain.

Really doubtful we use Elder as our 4th if we dont have Strider. Probably Odo on a VERY VERY VERY short leash.
 
I’d rather have him start a game and pitch 4 innings than be limited to a reliever
