Official Playoff Thread

Man watching these teams has me appreciating just how deep the Braves offense is.

Feels like our 9-13 hitters could be batting 1-5 in this game.

Watching that game makes it easy to see what a powerhouse the Braves have become. We are what I felt the Dodgers were when the Braves played them in 2018.

From 2018 to now, it's incredible how good the team has become. I used to think we had no chance vs LA, now we're on even footing.

FF unconditional love I don't get. He had a chance to be Chipper. Chipper told him not to go to FA. FF decided he wanted 20 million more than he wanted to be a brave. That is his right but he did it. I think he made a mistake b/c long term being a brave for life would have gotten him a ton of off the field and after career options.

I get if AA is paying 20 million to 2-3 WAR morton, why not give FF more...but AA has to plan for the entire team and plan for years ahead. And AA has earned my trust on this. He's not perfect, nobody is who has to predict the future. But his track record is very good.

I'm not hating FF, but I'm not thinking of him as anyone special. With deferred money and taxes he took less to be a dodger.

I don't get the snideness either. And Freeman's situation and Chipper's were apples-and-oranges. Chipper was in his late-30s when the signed his last extension with a very team-friendly deal. Further, Freddie--as much as he accomplished with the Braves--never even remotely reached the level of adulation accorded to Chipper.

I think it's time to get past relitigating the whole episode. I think my earlier stance is somewhat valid. Anthopoulos loves the long ball and Freeman's power numbers have declined (and will likely decline further) and fact is he was never a true power hitter. Anthopoulos was probably relieved that Freddie moved on and that he could officially make the move for Olson.

I want the Braves to win, but I'll always love Freeman. They don't have to be mutually exclusive.
