It's actually why I prefer bWAR. It's a better representation of what actually happened.

But I would agree that fWAR is better for future performance since it's based on projection stats.
 
fWAR is more predictive because it takes into account the things a player can actually control based on true talent, which is what matters.

There is literally no value in backwards looking stats when superior predictive stats exist.
 
I can't believe we haven't made a single splash or had a transaction since December 20. This off-season has been beyond disappointing so far.

Worst one I can remember. We’ve lost Soler, TDA, Fried, Morton, and Minter and haven’t added anybody. It’s crazy to think about.

It’s been bizarre to say the least. Grant McCauley reported that Baldwin was the hang up in a Crochet deal, so that makes me think virtually everyone is demanding Baldwin or Schwelly in a deal. And both of those are simply a no.

If there were a legit SS with a few years left under control I’d be all in on moving Baldwin for him. But that’s not out there. So AA needs to spend, or ownership needs to let him spend.

I figured that Baldwin would be the hangup in most deals. Crochet would have looked really good here but they must really believe in Baldwin and it’s probably why they let TDA walk. Baldwin’s stat cast data is legit. I wonder if we will see him play LF in ST.

but the Braves did add Dela Cruz or something..

When are you guys going to give me props for calling the troll post.. and yall thought I was being all negative nancy..
 
AA didn't get us any help at the deadline last year, and he's made the team worse so far this offseason. Hopefully he does something soon bc I'm ready to destroy the statue of him we built on this site

The Ryan guy has a source but maybe something fell apart on the contract bc all he had knowledge of was the medical report. He definitely should have held off bc he looks foolish now. Cruz was a minor league signing I believe.

I’ve been AA’s biggest supporter but even I’ve started to get annoyed at him. I don’t blame him for avoiding the prices on the FA market so far though. He still has time to redeem himself.

weather it was intentional or just bad intel.. it is still a troll. He threw a carrot out that a **** ton of fans ran with and nothing.. Good guys still do dumb things.. look at Cy.. great guy.. but he trolls all the time..
 
There’s still time for AA to cobble together an acceptable offseason, and there are still big names out there who could be massive trade acquisitions.

I find it impossible to believe AA won’t fill the holes on the roster, even if they are underwhelming options.

Man, I hadn’t seen that. I definitely would’ve moved Baldwin in a Crochet deal, but I’m a big Crochet fan so maybe I’m alone there.

depends on who else was being asked for in addition to Baldwin.. other teams might not value a catching prospect as high as say an OF prospect.
 
I'd definitely move the backup catcher in the right deal but it's probably retry hard to find below market contracts with some control that can be obtained for a prospect.
 
My guess is the braves have an offer for the Japanese pitcher on the table. They're hoping to get him or trade for cease if the padres get him.
