Offseason Hot Stove 2024-25 Thread

Ok.. I think I go

Show-hey
Sale
Strider
Tyler
Lopez
Snell
Schwelly
Yomo
Saki

I think I could flip Schwelly, Lopez and Snell around 3 times and not be upset about it..

In terms of xwOBA over the last 3 years (varying workloads for each guy, obviously), here's how the arms in question stack up:

Strider, Spencer .262
Sale, Chris .274
Glasnow, Tyler .275
Ohtani, Shohei .276
Snell, Blake .281
Cease, Dylan .285
Yamamoto, Yoshinobu .288
Schwellenbach, Spencer .288
López, Reynaldo .298

So ignoring health (which you pretty have to do with this entire list of pitchers), I'm taking a healthy Strider/Sale duo into October no questions asked.

If the Braves acquire Cease somehow I like that rotation just as much as the Dodgers Top 5.

That is a whole bunch of yummy there... Schwelly as a #4 and Lopez as a #5 is pretty scary rotation if the Braves could somehow land Dylan..

It's also funny how quickly people forget that Spencer Strider is absurd and was the 2024 Cy Young favorite going into the season for a reason. Losing Fried is tough, but they're gaining a top-tier guy.

Surely the Astros take one of them. Paredes can play both 1b and 3b, but not at the same time.

Surely Paredes’ inability to play both positions at once is why the Astros signed Christian Walker.

Boras must be asking for the moon for Bregman for him to still be out there. I wonder if Bregman could still play SS.

MLB does need to find a way to make the offseason more exciting. It's beyond boring. Every year it's the same thing.

about a week left before the Dodger$ let Saki sign with them.

It was announced this morning that the Padres have been eliminated. lol so it’s down to LA and Toronto. So what’s the hold up. Just announce where you’re playing so we can get on with this offseason of doing nothing.
