It's obviously just his first Spring start, but for those of us who were concerned about Ian Anderson coming into the season, you're certainly not any less concerned after today. FB velo 91-93 and really struggled with his command. He had a couple nice-looking change ups, but the strikeout to Morel was on an absolute hanger he got away with.

State didn't need a ST bc he is already in form lol. But for real Anderson looked horrible. I know it's ST but his control still sucks. I just hope AA doesn't knee jerk and sign Quintana at some point.

Couple other notes for those not able to follow the broadcast . . .

- Eli White had a really nice fielding play at 2B (he's focusing in IF in camp to improve his versatility).
- Holmes FB velo 93-95. In the zone a lot. Solo HR to Caminero came on a breaking ball in where he missed his location.
- Daysbel FB velo 96-97. A lot of movement on the slider. Inconsistent command on both pitches.

Anyone who takes 11 seconds to look at what Anderson did in the minors last year understands he isn’t a serious answer for the rotation.

The Braves needed a SP, and they still need a SP. Nothing has suddenly changed just because someone just realized Anderson isn’t an MLB SP after 2 ST innings.

Daysbal was throwing hard but it was flat. Couldn’t locate any breaking stuff. Hopefully that isn’t the guy we get to see to be a high leverage option.

Most of us knew the don't wanna block Anderson and/or Holmes was just GM talk to not look as desperate. We still need a legit SP.
