Oh Mauricio, My Mauricio

how many times does chapman or kimbrel go an inning w/o a K? I just don't see the dominating stuff that makes hitters look foolish. Chapman and CK seem to make hitters look awful most of the time. Cabrera seems to be getting more weak contact. But I admit I'm not watching every pitch this year.

Chapman and Kimbrel are also arguably the two most dominating relievers of all time. That's not fair to compare Mauricio to them.

Chapman also throws with the opposite hand, so there's that.

Other than both of them averaging over 100 MPH on their FB there isn't much similarity between the two.

And Clv sure does like to call people out for being mean, immediately after he baited the same person with a passive aggressive swipe like a little bitch. Pretty typical from him I suppose though. Must be common in the world of high stakes realty, where a bunch of timid dudes do battle by handing out flyers.

Yep - you got it. Ignore button still not working, eh?

Pretty much this on both.

Clv, if you don't want to get called out then don't make passive aggressive posts trying to call others out. That makes you a gigantic hypocrite, not to mention makes you look super whiny.

The only thing Cabrera has in common with Chapman is fastball speed. As has already been pointed out to you multiple times, Chapman has a devastating slider, which is why he strikes out 12-13 per 9. Cabrera does not have a devastating slider, hence he strikes out 8-9 per 9. Unless his secondary stuff improves tremendously Cabrera will never be mentioned in the same breath as the top closers.

That doesn't mean Cabrera isn't awesome right now with a great chance to be very good for the next several years, just that your comparison was absurd at the time and still is. You trying to act like people are saying Cabrera is crap because they don't think he's on a level with Chapman is just silly.

I think Cabrera has the chance to be great but for some reason people seem to be able to time his fastball fairly well. Maybe it's just me not seeing someone throw 102 very often but I figured he would get more swings and misses. He's thrown well but I wish he would strikeout more people.

Movement matters. In the words of a pitching sage, "short, quick breaks on everything." I'll let you guess who.

Also, I noticed last night in his outing "fastball 102, change 93." I'm not so sure he's not doing them a favor.
