Not mine. I am a goy. But my favorite rabbi happens to be Hasidic. He is the closest thing I have to a spiritual advisor.

I honestly do not have a good taste for the organized faith since they would not teach me for my Bar Mitzvah because we didn't have money growing up.

Another temple allowed us to hold the services there for a very modest donation and I just learned it all on my own with a old school cassette player.

At the end of the day, we all have to find our own way.

When a young Baptist Jaw wanted to marry a young Catholic Mrs. Jaw, we had varying experiences.

Her first choice required me to take a year long conversion class and convert to Catholicism.
Second choice insisted we attend a 2 week retreat together that the diocese held once a year for everyone in a similar situation.
Third choice wanted me to attend 8 hour orientation classes every Saturday for a couple of months.

The winner asked us to attend a weekend workshop they held for all marrying couples, have someone sign a document attesting that they had witnessed my baptism, and meet with the priest for an hour so he could confirm that I wasn't a heathen.

I faced a similar array of choices with my first marriage.

The back and forth never ended.

So now I have eldest child baptized catholic (my religion), second child baptized episcopalian (first wife's religion) and third child jewish (second wife's religion).

As I said, we all have to find our way.

My mother did apologize many years later for putting her thumb on the scale a tad too forcefully at various points in this saga.

The husband's mother is one of the greatest dangers most marriages face.

Seems to be true across cultures.

Both of my wives have been under the impression my mother loves them. Little do they know.

Since this is a thread about Judaism it is natural to make a transition to food (and Asian food in particular).

When I grill this is my goto marinade. As you may be able to guess, the brand was developed by an Asian-Jewish couple.

I had a friend who married a Japanese women. After she converted, he told me that now she was a real JAP. Oy.
