*OPENING DAY* 4/6/'15: Atlanta Braves (Teheran) @ Miami Marlins

I understand, but 100 pitches isn't going to blow the guy's arm up. Wainwright went 101 last night, and I'll bet he'd have started the next inning if he didn't have a 3-run lead.

I'm not advocating ignoring his IP or pitch count, I just think Julio was fine, at 89 pitches, to start the inning.

Sure, its not going to be the tipping point or anything for Julio going under the knife but I think its not a precedent I want to be set for him this season. We all know this season means nothing when it comes to wins and losses. Julio is the Braves #1 asset and should be carefully monitored for the long haul. I'm not a proponent of thinking you can just shut him down at the end of the season. At that point the stress to the arm has already been done. I'm an advocate of a slow and steady approach like how basketball is played now. Take away minutes (innings) here and there over hte course of the whole season. Julio is too important to mess up.
