oppression AND tyranny

Certainly. Very simplistic.

Bush presidency - Russia invades and annexes part of Georgia. With a little ethnic cleansing on the side.

Obama presidency - China seizes international waters by building artificial islands. Russia seizes Crimea.

Trump presidency - ..... ...... Abraham Accords

Less than one year into Biden presidency- Russia invades the rest of Ukraine.

Seems quite simple to me.

Oh yeah, Putin was scared of Trump. Lol.

I mean by the admission of the right wing media under Trump China created and deployed COVID-19 crippling the world economy and destroying our freedoms. Can't have it both ways there.

As far as land grabs that you seem to be going for. Realize that Russia tends to move in waves. They take time to foment unrest locally before accusing the government of said country of crimes against russian nationals or whatever. It takes time to do that. ANd you can only do that so many times before people criticize you. But sure claim victory for Trump while China has all but officially taken over Hong Kong on his watch and basically is set up to take Taiwan whenever they feel it's right.

The consensus among professionals is that China does not have the means to conquer Taiwan today if we oppose them. They could turn it into glass, but not invade and take over. If our Air Force and Navy continue to shrink while theirs grow stronger then that may change in a couple of years. Hopefully the Putin threat will scare Congress into raising defense spending back up to at least 4% so we can prevent it long term.

Well the recurring theme is that we fund the war machines of our enemies so I wouldn't expect that to stop.

Itd be very easy to cripple the CCP over a 5-10 year span. Nobody has the political will to do it.

Again, that's a very simplistic way describe it Jaw.

Make it more complex for me. Half the media was hyperventilating about the guy starting WW3 while the other half was assuring us that he was nothing but a puppet with Putin's hand up his ass.

How is it that his presidency saw less aggression from any major power (especially us) than any other presidency of at least the post Cold War era? How was the psychopathic Putin puppet able to broker the best chance we've had for peace in the Middle East since the creation of Israel?

Honestly though, I fully expect that the threats are just precursors to a slow "democratic" takeover like Hong Kong is going through now.

An actual example of oppression AND tyranny

The BBC said it was temporarily suspending its operations in Russia on Friday after the country’s parliament passed a censorship law that penalizes anyone deemed to be “discrediting” the Russian military with 15 years in prison.

The British broadcaster said that the legislation appeared “to criminalize the process of independent journalism” and that it had “no other option” than to stop its journalists and support staff from working.

And another one:

Russia clamped down harder Friday on news and free speech than at any time in President Vladimir V. Putin’s 22 years in power, blocking access to Facebook and major foreign news outlets, and enacting a law to punish anyone spreading “false information” about its Ukraine invasion with up to 15 years in prison.

Anyone know if Navalny is still in prison?

Or how many puppies and other furry creatures have died because of Putin's War?

Do you legitimately believe there has been no oppression in the US from COVID? Like actually believe that?
if you go to the first page of this thread you can see that i advocated oppressive measures to incentivize vaccination uptake...i'm pro-oppression...so why should i deny it took place

but if you are going to call things like a vaccine mandate for certain categories of workers oppression AND tyranny, i hope you don't mind if i bring up a few examples of actual oppression AND tyranny

some poster brought up dogs being euthanized in australia as part of their drive against covid (of course this isn't exactly what happened but never mind that)...but i ask where is the outrage now about what is happening to the furry creatures of ukraine...crickets

btw has it occurred to anyone else that the performance of the Russian Army has been adversely affected by the vaccines...it has emasculated them and made their ovaries swell up...not to mention the heart damage...Ivan should have stuck with ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine

Well if that is your judgement we can now all be certain that we are under a tyrannical and oppressive regime

Thank you for confirming

We live in a country where all the government has to do is tell a judge who they appoint that it's too hard to follow the constitution to make your rights disappear. I think a good word for it is Democratic Tyranny. Sucks but at least we get to pick between two of the ****tiest people in the country to be the slave master

lookee here...an actual instance of oppression AND tyranny...i guess y'all not so outraged by real oppression AND tyranny...you'd rather save your outrage for fake oppression AND tyranny

Who has ever said that Putin wasn’t a tyrant that oppresses the Russian people.

I’ll wait for you to find that.
