OT Immaculate Grid

Came really close on the popular grid today. Not sure how Kevin Kiermaier got 40% of the selections for TAM/TOR over David Price. That seems crazy to me.

My pick of Carlos Pena narrowly missed beating out Canseco by 1% for Oak/Tam

My Giambi pick was 5% behind McGwire for Oakland 100 RBI.

I did a lot of legwork on the allstars. I was only doing OK the team matches as they were between a low of 2% (JA Happ) and a high of 10% (McGriff) I gambled that Glaus was healthy and good when he was with Toronto. That paid off. ANd my All Stars were doing good, Danys Baez at 0.1%, Jack MOrris at 0.4% (Minnesota has a ton of options so I gambled Morris would have been forgotten as most people remember Puckett from that era) and for 100 RBI and All Star Javy Lopez 0.06%.

I blew it this morning by trying to do it without my reading glasses. Was going to pick Tony Armas for OAK 100 RBI, but clicked the first instance of that name to come up, which ended up being Tony Armas Jr.

Sort of did that with Vlad this am.

I'll pat myself on the back for pulling Marco Scutaro out of thin air today. However, it turns out that Barry Bonds finished with a .298 career batting average, which cost me an answer.

I got hosed because I thought the average like everything else they've done (20 wins, etc.) would have been the career average at that team. Which boned me. I picked Orlando Cepeda who didn't hit .300 for his career but I figured hit .300 for t he giants and he did. I was wrong which screwed me. I instead went with Moises Alou and for Pit with Sean Casey. Wild to me that Tom SEaver was the most common Met/Red, I thought I was pulling for that. I thought Jay Bruce would for sure be the number 1 as he was semi-recent. Or Asdrubal Cabrera. Should have gone with a my all-star baseball 2002 favorite Danny GRaves.

To see what my rarity score would have been if I had a chance to finish, I would have gotten 41 with my Jake Beckley pull (sometimes to find a .300 just remember old time hall of famers) It would have been 41. I thought Beckley was a red, that was the only thing I wasn't sure of, I had him and casey as pirates and reds in my heads, and for some reason flipped them.

Solid go today.

50 score but I had a few things. 1 who would be a lower ranger MVP than Juan Gonzalez. Figures Shohei, Trout, and A-Rod would dominate that. THey must have had an older winner though. I was happy i remembered the Jomboy MVP video that Don Baylor won the MVP. I also did the thing where I was gambling on the MVP/ROY being the same and went with Fred Lynn as I assumed Ichiro would be number 1. If I knew that I would have gone with Jose Canseco or Ryan Braun or Ryan Howard who I assume would have been lower.

All my joint teams were 1% or lower And all Braves. Hanson, Mahay, Salty, and Aybar. I got 3% for braves ROY I dont' know who's lower than Horner. People must have gotten wise on Fidrych as he was much higher than the last time.

Today is the day everyone should have a low rarity score as there's no teams and only 4 leaders are at 20% or higher. But there aren't a ton of options so I feel like most categories have no one under 1%. Top row's highest number of combos is 19, Bottom is 72. but considering that 72s leader is only at 8%. I think the best passage way is figure out where people are popular. I guessed BOnds would be popular for .300 or GG MVP but I don't think I was right, I think he had GG/500 was super high. Should have maybe gambled on if Sosa won a gold glove.

I think all Braves is technically possible today, but it's definitely tough.

It is possible. I semi-researched it messing around looking at the lists a few hours ago, and I just got 8 and had to look up the 9th, who I had used in the same spot in my actual attempt...

Yeah the only one I would see being tight is .500 homers. But I assume Hank was 500 and .300. But I don't know if we have 500 and Gold Glove. Ruth gets you MVP and 500, but I don't know about Gold Glove and 500. Though maybe Ruth is 500 and .300? Which gives you Mathews for 500 and Hall of Fame.

Bottom line I can't think of people right away but I'm sure they're there, I think only Chipper would qualify other than Hank for MVP+Hall of Fame. But Hank has to go top row. So that means you need someone for .300 and Silver SLugger which is where I put Chipper. Freddie can go ther ebut without Chipper and Hank who else could get .300 and MVP?

Murphy gets you .300 and MVP

Joe Torre for MVP and HOF, Tom Glavine for Silver Slugger and HOF are a couple extras for the bottom 6, then Andruw (GG/SS), Chipper (.300/SS), Freddie (.300/MVP), Dale (MVP/GG) filled it out. Top was Babe (.300), Hank (GG), Eddie (HOF).

Hey, I got to remember Horacio Ramirez for today's IG. Remember the knock-down, drag out fights over his terrible peripherals and whether he was a special unicorn to whom those numbers didn't apply?

Guarantee you my Greg Norton pull for that square was lower.
