Paid To Pray

It's a tenet of a religion in that theism is the belief in a god or gods so atheism is the opposite. It's really hard to sell that though. I think to me, what makes a religion is the gathering. NOw not all gatherings are religious, that's obvious I think. BUT someone who's willing to go out of their way to try and convert others to atheism is taking it to a level of religion.

Religious hermits would beg to differ with you though on the gathering. But I know what you are saying. Yet, i'd encourage you to think past the four walls of a church/mosque/temple/synagogue when you think of religious gatherings. Such gatherings in our day can be electronic...

I'm not disagreeing with you as far as gatherings. That's why I didn't mention the buildings. We're part of many communities through the internet that weren't possibel 20 years ago. I mean who'd think someone in NH could be debating someone in NC about religion and doing it almost in real time. The religious hermits though still were part of a group before becoming hermits. I odn't know of any humans who lived on their own their whole life.
