Parents of Sandy Hook

I think it is germane to the topic. It is after all human nature and how people act ( and how we deal with) their acting out their states of nature.

hope it works out well for them

our country has a weird fetish with guns

I'll agree in full with that. I've never held or shot a real gun, and I'm glad I don't need one to feel secure about my life. I've unfollowed half my friends on FB to get away from their constant tin foil hat gun evangelism. In return, none of them care ;)

DNA triggers will significantly reduce rates from idiot cops to murdering citizens but I don't think it's technologically possible at this time.

Have to start somewhere - if we as a nation wanted it to be technologically possible we would make it possible.

No, I agree with you, but the gun companies will complain and they have the money to stop it.

I think everyone on this board would like this. The main issue is that it only takes in effect with new weapons, the half billion on the streets now are not accounted for. Can we make bullets expensive? Yes, but still the ones out there are have already been bought.

A good long term solution, but will not help in today's environment.

So we can just invent whatever we want, just as long as we really want it to be posssible?

for the most part

we use to at least

i mean, in less than 10 years we went from no real space program to landing on the moon cause we made it a goal to do so

i think looking into if the 2nd amendment is outdated should be on topic as well

If we can 'mostly' invent whatever we want, then I would hope we are prioritizing a building a stargate versus biometric gun locks.

Yeah. We should focus all our efforts to prevent one tenth of one percent of gun homicides.

Don't think we have gotten to that technology yet

We never will get there if we let the religious right be in charge of spending either

Nice pulling a stat out of thin air

As well as saying, we do anything that might could prevent killings as well

Haha well, you know, Ronald Reagan got funding for 'Star Wars' ... just attach a defensive component to the Stargate project and it will get support beyond our wildest dreams.

First we need to learn how to fold space to even build a stargate. I wouldn't be surprise if we have alien technology already, but we know how disclosure works.
