TAMPA -– Thousands of gun enthusiasts flocked to the Florida State Fairgrounds for the Florida Gun Show event.

Organizers say they had a record number of people attend the event on Saturday, almost 7,000, and expect more Sunday.

Manager for the Florida Gun Show, George Fernandez, says they’ve never seen such a big crowd.

Record number of attendees. Guess we’re seeing how the people on the fence feel about blaming the NRA instead of the person.

Yes, and record numbers of guns were sold during a time when democrats had essentially punted on gun control as an issue. Publicity and fear-based marketing was enough to create an actual ammunition shortage. Again, it's worth posing the question...who's subject to emotional manipulation here?

The further the left goes the better Trump looks to the population as a whole. Something they can't seem to understand. A left-centric candidate would win in a landslide.

I'm loving it. Trump is exposing the progressive left for what they are...

There is a huge push within the progressive movement to ban guns. You can pretend that it's not there all you want. That is what 2nd amendment supporters are responding to. Easier to take away a gun that was never bought than one that's already sitting in my house

Hmmm. Y'all might want to check the public polling info before suggesting that whatever public remedies are being suggested are somehow the province are the far left.

The NRA shills who are pulling down seven-figure paychecks to advocate against any changes in American gun laws are the real victims here, obviously.

Are these the same polls that said Hillary would easily win?

$700 billion defense budget and rising. If they want it, they'll get it.

Umm, yes. There are people who support the reinstatement of some form of the assault weapons ban that was passed by both houses of congress two decades ago. Is that a function of a further move to the left by milquetoast liberals or an expression of how the right has been wholly captured by the gun lobby?

No, it's the first step in a plan for full disarmament. The people of this country aren't falling for this plan.

Ok. Who's subject to emotional manipulation, again?

Sure...it's just emotion. All the places you guys reference severely restrict gun ownership and that is the model for you guys. Keep acting like it's not what you want. We see right through this trickery

I totally understand the slippery slope fear when it comes to gun control measures, but that shouldn't be the primary concern in policy debate. I think a majority opinion in this country is an assault weapon ban and nothing more. The type that want extensive, universal gun control are, I surmise, a real small minority.

In other words, the second amendment is in no real danger, so I still don't understand the ardent support for pistol grips and bump stocks, et cetera.
