Passan: Braves "desperately" trying to acquire draft picks

I would really think we could probably find something somewhere for Nick. That contract just made no sense. In retrospect it isn't a terrible one, just odd timing

Agree. Hes been great so far though but if we can get a return from him then i hope we deal him.

This is hopelessly dumb. It's like saying we should be wary of college pitchers because Hursh sucks. Cuban players are not all the same.

In my mind, it isn't that none are any good. It's that most, if not all, are overrated because the island was shut to MLB for so long.

It's like the kid at the candy store who has had his nose pressed to the glass looking in from the outside for days. When the door is finally opened and the kid rushes in, EVERYTHING tastes great and is the BEST EVER! It's only a little later that the kid is moaning in a corner where he realizes that the éclair's were stale, the chocolate was waxy and the candy corn was all sugar and no flavor.

To me, you have to look at where you get your best VALUE. Right now, Cuban talent is overvalued.

Cuba is the new Japan. The first crop of top talent is brought over at great bargains and now the rest is overpaid disasters. Now that's somewhat an exaggeration but I would be vary of any established cuban right now. I'd much rather go after the younger players that look good.
