Pastornicky

Who would have thought I'd be hoping for Uggla to come back quickly.

Feel so bad for Pastor.

So we don't have a ML 2B, we have a good 2B prospect in AA, we don't call up good 2B prospect from AA when we don't have a ML 2B. Makes perfect sense to me.

Only thing that makes sense is if a deal is in the books and they didn't want to put LaStella on the 40 man. I suppose another answer is that they want LaStella to finish the AA season and then come up.

There were plenty of ways to put LaStella on the 40.

I don't know who on the waiver wire they could get though.

Definitely a trade in the works. I have little doubt that the Braves will bring in a new 2nd baseman in the next few days.

Yup. This regular season isn't over. Braves need to ensure they get as many wins as possible and having a non-major leaguer like Goselin on the team is just not a move the Braves normally make.

This! Other than a trade, that can be the only reason to have a Gosselin/ Janish platoon. It will actually have fans forgetting the old Uggla's struggles and counting the seconds until the new, Lasiked version returns.

One question, though. Will that sick 2B platoon still have better hitting stats than BJ Upton?? :eusa_dance:

Or Fredi is paranoid we will all fall in love with La Stella and forget about his boy Uggla so Janish/Gosselin will make us miss Dan and we'll all be happy when he comes back.

/conspiracy theory.

And then have another response in an interview that he succumbed to the fans requests!

What's the major league record for most players on the DL in a season? How about most roster players with season-ending injuries in one season? 2013 Braves have to be close to beating that record if they haven't already. Need a frikkin' doctor's office in the clubhouse this year....:mad0182:

He's had a good minor league career.

Yup don't have to sell me on him at all. I am not one of those who thinks he is only hitting because he is a little old for his level. Guy has a great eye at the plate and doesn't strike out. I also believe that while he will never be a big homerun hitter he will get 40-50 XBH in a season at the major league level. A guy with a slash of 270/350/420 sounds about right to me.

As many here have said, it probably has to do with either A) The Braves thinking LaStella simply isn't ready for the show, or B) They want him up in the majors, but they don't want to bring him up, and then send him right back down whenever Uggla or Pastor return, or if there's a trade brewing.

It wouldn't be hard to supply more offense than blind Uggla was giving us, but Janish clearly can't even do that. So I'm hoping for a trade, however implausible it looks right now on the waiver wire.

Or they dont believe La Stella is ready.

He may not be but is he worse than Janish or Gosselin offensively, I don't think so.

I guess they trade for someone but if they just go with those two, I'm confused by the move.
