Man that’s a tough one. It’s so easy to forget how sick Venters was early on. But that game 6 NLCS performance by Nutsak may be the greatest relief appearance I’ve ever seen.

I remember talking to players in the visiting clubhouse in Gwinnett that would come in after the game talking about how Venters sinker was like hitting a bowling ball

Venters was the best pitcher I have ever seen. I wonder this many times he came in with runners on base gets a double play to end the inning and then pitches another scoreless inning. My guess would be 60-75.

Anybody who has 3 1/2 TJs and comes back for more wins any poll he's in. Including Georgia Senate, if he wants to go in that direction.

Chris Reitsma throwing Left handed. He was just so kind to MLB to not pitch left handed. He pitched right handed to show mercy to the league. He would have made Mo Rivera look like Bob Wickman.

That 2006 Bullpen was fun to watch.

Retisma
Chad "Gryboski 2.0" Paronto
Death Ray
Remlinger
Moylan
Cormier
Villareal
Wickman
Yates

200 IQ move by Suspenders to trade Betemit for Aybar and Danys Baez.

I forgot about Chad Paronto.

The Braves teams of that era were buckwild. The rotation on 2006 was Smoltz, Hudson, Chuck James, John Thomson, Horacio Ramirez, Kyle Davies, Jorge Sosa and Lance Cormier. And of course that was because of the missing link, Mike Hampton wasn't there.

The Braves of that era were basically JS thinking he could pick up scraps from elsewhere and Mazzone could "fix"

I guess he thought the same about McDowell.

Yeah. And sometimes it worked. Jaret Wright worked out great. But we lost so many millions of dollars in Mike Hampton for no reason. We spent what like 48M for 6 WAR? Woof.

Hampton wasn't injury prone when he came to us.

His body just want downhill fast.

There's plenty of Mazzone reclamation projects that worked out. Way more than failures.

Roberto Hernandez failure. Antonio Alfonseca big win.

Probably Venters, he was amazing. Matzek is getting close, that Game 6 performance was legendary.
