Not really but its spring training and news can be slow!

Venters is the poster boy for relievers too good to be a closer. Probably saved our SP half a run on their ERA bailing them out when he came in with runners on bsse.

Hampton wasn't injury prone when he came to us.

His body just want downhill fast.

There's plenty of Mazzone reclamation projects that worked out. Way more than failures.

Roberto Hernandez failure. Antonio Alfonseca big win.

It wasn't that Hampton was injury prone, he just wasn't that good. 99 and 2000 were the only years he pitched like he should have been the top paid pitcher in baseball. But you give me a pitcher who strikes out under 6 per 9 and walks over 3 per 9. I see someone I don't want to sign.

Matzek's been a boss the last 2 seasons for us. But let's not act like he's a 20 something year old kid. He's in his 30s and just figuring it out. He may fizzle out soon.

I think Matzek would have had a better career if he wasnt drafted by the Rockies.

I'm gonna take Matzek overall. But lefty on lefty, I'm taking Venters all day. He was virtually unhittable to lefties, even in 2018 after 15 arm surgeries.
