The Braves have had 7 losing seasons in the past 35 years. That's back to 1991, the worst to first season.

People are so doom and gloom over not blowing up the culture and starting fresh with an outside manager. Do you know the number of teams that would kill to have more than 3/4 of their past 35 season be winning seasons?

The Phillies have had 8 losing seasons since 2000. The Mets have had 14 losing seasons since 2000. The Giants have had 11 losing seasons since 2000.

The Red Sox have had 10 losing seasons since 1991.

Outside of the "windowless" teams that just fill their needs with money like the Yankees and Dodgers, the Braves are basically the best in the business.

Maybe, just maybe, the Braves know how to build a winning organization.

Pretty good facts/thought. I don't think most dispute the run of success of the organization, however this organization also leaves a lot of meat on the bone. Some of the approach in my humble opinion is that there are areas where a refresh is needed. That buttoned-down nice guys thing is for some, for me I want to see a more progressive/aggressive approach to managing the team. I have no idea if Weiss is that, but I'm over the old "Braves Way." How about a"New Braves Day?"

This is a good perspective - and honestly, the right one to have. I think the frustration really comes from being in a top-five market and not consistently going all-in when we clearly have the resources to do it. But you’re right: if AA actually lands an impact starter, a solid bullpen arm and either a real super-utility guy or a strong outfielder who can rotate DH with Ronnie and Profar, I doubt anyone’s complaining anymore. I just wish we’d show more willingness to evolve with the game — like bringing in a manager who embraces analytics.

You absolutely should be working to improve every way you can. And I think we've been doing that. AA has helped modernize the Braves analytics department. The Battery is the envy of baseball and the blueprint other teams are trying to use.

My point is that in hiring a manager we didn't need to look for someone to overhaul the team's culture like most teams do. We needed to look for someone who would fit the existing culture and hopefully bring improvements. If you want to see a team in need of a culture overhaul, go across the city and look at the Falcons. That's a completely dysfunctional organization.

Most of the time managers are replaced it's because thing have gone very wrong and you need a new direction. That's not where we are. We need to improve but we don't need a completely new direction.

I think it is a pretty safe assumption that WW will be just as bad as twit.. he sat right next to him for 8 years.. he was already a terrible manager... He is from the old school, good ol' boys club that thinks from their gut.. Sure he is out there saying he has learned a lot and have to incorporate analytics.. but I don't think he will be able to get over his old school teaching and we will se much of the same... pitchers have to go 5 to get the win... relievers will have roles... starters play unless they ask for a day off...

You might be right. But in the end you, me, or anyone else doesn't know what those interviews were like or how the season will play out with his managerial moves. So I will leave you with this. The best defensive play in Braves playoff baseball history.

Didn't John Rocker get pissed and call out Ozzie Guillen when Ozzie replaced Weiss in the field for some reason? I thought it was a playoff game and Ozzie didn't make a play that Rocker thought Weiss would have made.

Welll....I meant to say Braves playoff history as a qualifer for the Weiss play. I'd agree any number of Andruw's or Andrelton's plays are better.

To this day, I’ve never understood and never will understand how Andruw got to that ball in Montreal. Bob Rathbun’s call was also a very underrated one in the history of Braves broadcasting.
