Chris Cotillo of Bleacher Report has written that free agent catcher A.J. Pierzynski has elected not to retire and is actively looking for a free agent deal for 2017. Pretty clear that Atlanta is not among his suitors.

I would've guessed the same, but the Catching market is so thin that the Mariners actually gave up a live arm with a heartbeat for a 38 year old "Chooch" Ruiz coming off a .264/.365/.348/.713 season where he hit all of 3 HRs and drove in an astounding 15 runs so yaneverknow.
