We're going to have to replace nearly 400 innings next year (Santana and Harang). I'd like to see us trade for Mark Buehrle. He's expensive, but he'll be pitching for one final contract and should put up a good year with 200+ innings.

Buehrle

Teheran

Minor (keep Wood #5 to control his innings one last year without moving him to the bullpen)

??

Wood

I'd offer Gavin Floyd the #4 job. Or perhaps Haren. Could also go for someone like Brandon McCarthy or Jason Hammel.

I actually would love one of either Gavin Floyd, Haren, McCarthy or Hammel. All of those are great choices. Buehrle is a guy I'd enjoy having here and would benefit from having Simba and Jason out there for defense. Gavin Floyd is the guy I think we need to resign first and foremost. His time with us told me one thing: The guy can pitch...

Bring him in! I'm not against bring Harang back either, but I don't think I trust him for another season.

I didn't mention Harang because he earned a 2-3 year deal, and he'll get it. Just not with us.

I think Buehrle could also add a much-needed veteran presence along with being a great mentor for Wood and Minor.

Buehrle is an excellent choice if you ask me. He's not a "Brave" like Huddy was, but he's a really good clubhouse guy/mentor as well as an innings eater. I think the idea of bringing Harang or Santana back should be assessed as well. Minor would of been even more awful this year if not for Santana... but I think both of the guys just earned themselves a good pay day.

Buerhle, Teheran, Minor, Floyd, Wood. That would be my choice though.

I'm a bit biased with Floyd, because I'm a huge fan, but he reminds me so much of a Fister type of guy that just does well in the National League.

I think the Braves attempt to sign Lester and if they are successful then they trade Minor.

Lester, Julio, Wood, Floyd, Hale is my prediction.

That's a potentially disastrous #4/#5 combo. Also don't care for the idea of trading Minor after a down year.

Lester would be an incredible grab, but he is earning himself a huge contract. Not sure we're up for that.

I doubt we're in the mix for Lester.

He's gonna get paid.

He's awesome but i doubt we nut up what he wants.

I'd rather go with Julio, Wood, Minor, a 1-yr type maybe Buerhle, and sign a cheap vet for a year.

And even if they got Lester (not happening), i'd keep Minor.

Buehrle completely fell off this season. Great first two months and then was awful pretty much the remainder of the season.

And with his price tag of nearly 15MM for the 2015, no thanks.

Floyd is broken. Beachy is broken. Medlen is broken.

Enough is enough people. Please stop mentioning any of these three guys.

Teheran, Wood and Minor will hold down 3 spots in 2015.

I think it is pretty likely that the #5 starter will be a cheap internal option, with Hale being the most obvious one.

The remaining spot will be filled by acquisition. I don't think we will spend much (as in 10M or more) on that pitcher, unless we get significant salary relief (meaning we move BJ or CJ). I think a trade involving BJ and Bethancourt for someone like Jackson, Buehrle or Dickey is a good bet.

Gavin Floyd could be a casualty of the GM transition. That, and the fact that the org doesn't look favorably upon large quantities of time spent on the DL.
