Playing in David Price's charity golf event tomorrow

We had a blast. Shot -14 in the scramble and came in 2nd place. Price can smash a golf ball and Gray is good at everything he does. He was all-state QB and won 2 state titles as well.

Price did say he didn't feel like he would be in TB next season but hasn't been told anything by the FO. I didn't bother him with a lot of questions either. He said he would like to stay in a warm weather city but knows he has no control over it right now. Just an extremely polite young man that his head on straight.

We raised over $10K for his charity today and he signed balls all day long and took pictures all day as well. The Braves would be lucky to have a player and person like David Price.

Did you ask him why he scheduled his charity golf tournament during the World Series? What was his plan if TB had made it?
 
It is the last Friday of Oct every year. He did have to reschedule the one year TB made the WS.

I'm sure he would rather be pitching in the WS.

We have a kid that is a freshman this year from just northwest of Chatanooga named Dakota Hudson. Tall, lanky righty is throwing 94-95 consistently off the mound this fall. How filthy was Vandy's rotation when they had Price and Minor in 2007?

If Atlanta could land Price, I'd be willing to start an offer with a package of Evan Gattis and Alex Wood. It's going to take both of them to get a deal done.

Asked a couple of the BA guys (Manuel and Cooper) about a potential package of Wood, Bethancourt, Sims, and Peraza for Price. Neither of them felt that would get it done. Manuel doesn't think we match up well with the Rays (and mentioned that Sims and Peraza were too far away in his opinion).

Would substituting Teheran and Gattis for Wood and Bethancourt change things? I'd never say never, but kinda doubt that it'd make the difference as well. Got my eyes on another "Ace" anyway.

If that's the case then I will pass. I love David Price and would love for the Braves to have a legit ace but we can't really afford to gamble away our future for a player who will get a ton of money from a big market team and Wood and Sims could be very good pitchers. Price is a pretty good pitcher but if I'm going to mortgage the future it better be for King Felix who is under a rather decent contract seeing as how Sabathia and Kershaw are getting like 30mm.
