Playoffs discussion 2020

The ALCS is in California. I’d expect those games to start later than than our games.

I mean the Dodgers were playing in Arlington and still got the latest start time this past round. They had the games in LA and SD starting at 3 and 7. So not sure that will matter, probably more about media market of the teams.

Good point. Definitely see them trying to cater to the LA market and give them a more traditional start time for them.

Yeah but thats the real markakis. We have the hollow shell of markakis right now

The majority wanted a starting pitcher at the deadline (which would have been nice), but I thought the need for another OF was being ignored. Inciarte's bat turned into sawdust and the termites got into Markakis' bat shortly thereafter. Who knows what the payroll constraints were at the time, but I was disappointed they didn't consider Starling Marte or Jackie Bradley, Jr. There are payroll concerns with Marte going forward (but he would have fit in next year's plans), but Bradley, Jr. would have been a straight rental. Maybe the Red Sox' asking price was just too high.

i legit just think AA had essentially $0 to spend.

Puig would look nice in this lineup right about now.

I have no real complaints about the lineup right now. We were right back to scoring 6 runs a game in the NLDS. Yes, the back-end is not so great right now, but that is balanced by having TD and Dansby hitting well.

I'm surprised that Puig didn't show up anywhere this season. I have a saying I go by: Individual teams can sometimes (and some teams often) be wrong but all of baseball is rarely wrong. Must be something that said "Look, but don't touch" when it came to Puig's status for 2020. Could be a buy-low for 2021.

Let it be known the Falcons HC showed up to his presser in a Braves cap. That pretty much guarantees we have a large lead and lose in epic fashion

Snit has been sitting Markakis vs LHP and starting both TDA and Flowers at C/DH. That is the correct lineup, and I expect it to continue vs Kershaw.

Unfortunately that will pretty much guarantee Ozuna will cost us a run in the field lol

Snitker should take a page from the Rays/Kevin Cash playbook, in the event we're looking at bringing back starters on short-rest in games 5–7 next series: Glasnow pitched decently, if a bit wild, but after retiring the ninth-place hitter, he was out before the Yankees even got to sniff him a second time. They bright in Anderson, who promptly elicits a 4-3 GIDP to move on to the next inning scoreless.

Meanwhile, Boone has said he's going to ride Cole as long as he can—hopefully that burns the Yankees.

Well, even if NYY wins tonight, Cole wouldnt be available on normal rest until... Game 4. I think he'd probably have to pitch at least Game 3. Game 2 is way too early. If ALCS is on Sunday.
