Political Correctness

So James Younger's father, while denied custody, will have joint guardianship and share in any medical decisions. Hope it all works out for James and his family.

Judge also put a gag order on the father. He will have to take down his website. I guess now we can turn this into a free speech issue.

This from the Dallas Morning News (a respectable newspaper) is also worth noting:

Records show that the mother asked the court to require written mutual consent before the child undergoes any hormonal therapy.

This request was made even before today's ruling. Seems like a detail that maybe any respectable news outlet would have included in its reporting. But I guess it wasn't a convenient part of the narrative that they were driving.

The kid is seven, nsacpi.

Why is there even are article to be written?

I think you've asked the right question. There have been 3 "new organizations" involved in the coverage from the start. It shouldn't require much work to figure out their motivations in this case and the narrative they have been trying to drive.

This is a family matter and should have been left to the parties involved to sort out, with the help of the legal system. It seems to me that a reasonable accommodation has been arrived at.

Sex reassignment surgery for a 7 year old should not be an option on the table. I don't care what the parents think.

"The parties involved" decided on child abuse of a 7 year old

I don't see where anyone has decided on anything let alone "child abuse." This "child abuse" is an imaginary issue that you and thethe have made up out of thin air.

As the Dallas Morning News reported the mother has requested that there be written consent from both parents before any hormone therapy begins. It may seem strange for you to believe but both these parents love their child and want what's best for him. I hope it works out for the best for all them.

I ask again, what constitutes child abuse in your mind?

I can give examples but I don't have a definition.

But I would say that in a case like this the parents take their time in deciding what's best for their child. They know more than I do obviously. But I would advise them to keep an open mind. I think the answer will come in the form of how persistent and consistent the child's desire to be a girl is. I think 7 is a bit young to commit to a course of hormone therapy. That's just my take as an outsider.

A bit too young?

Do you even support a 12 year old? 15? At what point is one able to understand the ramification of their decision. I'd argue even people in their early 20's aren't but once someone is 18 they are free to make whatever decision they think is best for themselves.

actually I wouldn't presume to tell the families what they should do...im sure they are much better informed than me on these matters

Nsacpi, serious question. Let’s say a ten year old hated using his right hand. He’s a leftie for stories sack. If his parents were in favor of him getting his right hand amputated and he was for it, Would you have a problem with that?

The left has gotten so out of control that even Obama would get booed.

Yeah I get that people dont like being called out on their hypocrisy. This isnt a safe space where you have an echo chamber to circlejerk partisan bull****. Trump is political correctness on steroids. Either you agree with every dumb **** he ever does or says or you are an enemy who needs to be destroyed. There is no in between with him.
