Political Correctness

We just detest whites who are slave owners. I’ve never heard 57, runnin, Julio etc say we should intervene in Africa, where slavery is still common, to free slaves. The left has no problem with slavery in Africa.

Lol

Where the **** do you come up with these dumb hot takes

Ahh yes... in julio's world... the people saying "boy scouts" are for boys are the cry babies.

No, I'm mostly just struggling to understand why you care. I mean, make the case as to why I should think this is so self-evidently terrible.

I genuinely don't understand this. It's incoherent and dumb.

But since there's never been a problem with Scout leaders sexually assaulting boys, I'm sure adding girls to the mix won't be a problem.

On the other hand, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, as organizations, cultivate very different sorts of skills and promote different types of identities. I don't think it's bad at all that girls have access to the arena of the former, as well as the latter—even if Scouting has had its fair-share of bad leaders (irrespective, as you note, of the gender of the juvenile constituents).

Why do I care that students on college campuses get punished for saying "lame?"

I dunno, I guess I'm just weird.

My fiance's sister had to introduce her pro-noun on the first day of her class at Brown.

I don't want to live in a country where I have to worry about your approved pro-noun.

I guess I'm just a snowflake

But, uh, who's so bothered by it that they're posting about it on a message board?

Me. As a former boy scout, I don't wish to have made the experience completely different with the inclusion of girls.

Why do we have to live in a world where we can't even acknowledge biological differences anymore?

If your issue really is pronominal laziness, then yea: you're a snowflake.

You'd be right if assuming one's gender doesn't auto-make you a white supremacist white privilege sexist.

But that's the world the left has made for us... and I'm fed up with it.

And that's really what it comes down to: selfishness. You don't want to have to change anything about your blissfully privileged world to accommodate or include others who might have been, heretofore, largely unaccommodated or excluded.

There it is!

Weird how men aren't allowed to comment on women's issues because "they're not women"

But men can't say "as a father of 3" or a guy can't say "As a former boyscout" without the inevitable sexist claim.

Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

Men are totally allowed to comment, regardless of whatever skepticism might attend said comments. Don't confuse allowance with regard.

And I'm not calling you sexist; I'm calling you selfish. I don't think you have a problem with women; I think you have a problem with change disrupting a world that's been good to you, even if it hasn't been so good to a lot of other folks.

I had the audacity (and stupidity) to openly say at work that the letter from the google guy deserved at least some consideration from many points.

I was immediately called a sexist who couldn't grasp my own male privilege

I'm excited about the Boy Scouts allowing girls to participate. My daughter knows some boy scouts and has asked me several times if she can join them. She wants to hike, camp, fish, build fires, and learn woodcraft. If the girl scouts was a program that did more of that stuff then it would be a better fit for her, but sadly there doesn't seem to be much "scouting" done in girl scouts anymore.

I've tried to fill that gap as much as possible with family outings, but I think it's natural and healthy that she wants to share her interests with kids of a similar age. If that's boys then so be it.

If they don't change what they do at all, then that would be OK.

But if they start implementing things to accommodate specifically girls, I'd have an issue with it.

It's not like there's a Phallus Care merit badge ...
