Post-Season Thread

At minimum, he's going to be most remembered as a Dodger. ugh.
Depends on how the rest of his contract plays out, but having memorable moments on the big stage certainly puts an image in fans' minds. Reggie Jackson was on as many World Series winners with the A's as he way with the Yankees, but his three-HR night against the Dodgers in Game 6 of the 1977 World Series has pretty cemented him as a Yankee in most fans' minds.

Whatever, Freeman is one of my all-time favorite Braves (in the top five) and I don't bemoan his moving on or Olson replacing him. It's the modern game as it relates to player movement. Freeman plays with a joy that I've always appreciated.

How much do you want to bet that Manfred uses last night as an argument for extending the Manfred Man to the postseason?
If you're talking about having the runner on 2nd at the start of each extra inning, he may try but it would be stupid to do that in the wake of a classic game. I think the rule makes sense in the regular season to save wear and tear on players (especially pitching staffs), but I think last night proves how much drama can build in a game and he'd be an idiot (he may already be one) to discount that.

I still say if you’re going to do it (in the regular season) it shouldn’t start until after the 10th inning.

Unlikely. At most, he may go in with a blank hat. But he has played 75% of his career in Atlanta to this point. He won his MVP here. He won his first WS here. 5 AS appearances in Atlanta.

People mostly remember Freddie as a Brave.

I believe it needs to be the same one way or the other, whether that involves adjusting the rule permanently to where the ghost runner only starts after the 11th inning or whatever. Theoretically, the last playoff spot could be decided on the last day of the regular season in extra innings, which could then directly impact the postseason. They should play by the same rules regardless of the time of the season.

Ohtani is very clearly tiring as he tops 60 pitches. Roberts better be ready to make a move.

He really dialed things back up vs Vlad though.
