Predicting Freeman to hit 40+ HRs next season

A guy over at FG postd a very interesting article. He compared the batted ball results for Freeman and found that his batted balls "should have" resulted in 44-45 HRs. He apparently was "robbed" of 6 HRs just in Turner Field alone.

He also did a comparison of Turner and SunTrust to show that Freeman "would have" hit more HRs in SunTrust Park.

Does anyone else think a healthy Freeman is a 40+ HR guy next year?

As long as kemp is protecting him, I think FF can do it haha

Yeah, I definitely think FF can, but I say he falls short with like 34-38

Well, sure. Kemp's protection is key.

Looking at Freddie's avg. launch angle, I think it's possible. He has really learned to get the ball in the air. And he's a big strong boy who hits 'em out oppo.

He's a unique hitter, when you think about it.

I have been predicting Freeman has a big career year at some point. Hitting like. 330 and 45 HRS. Age 26 thru 28 is when most career years happen. I think Freeman is underrated. He is very consistent and doesn't go into death spiral slumps like the Upton. Even the best hitters have slumps but Freeman has been remarkablying consistent. He has always hit well with RISP. If it's a skill, he has it. He kills our division rivals. Nats fans swear Freeman is terrible vs everyone else and Babe Ruth vs them. Mets fans fear Freeman like they did Chipper.

I haven't looked at the new field, but I hope that if it has a short porch in RF that Freeman doesn't become too pull happy. He has power to all fields ala Reggie Jackson and Daryl Strawberry. His hitting fundamentals are really solid and he shouldn't alter them.

It's rare that a big man has the gap-to-gap approach he does. But the other thing that intrigues me is the short, violent nature of his swing. It's kind of a quick uppercut, as opposed to the usual long uppercut and quick-level approaches (or his buddy Heyward's long-level approach, which doesn't work so great). It's why he's one of the few guys you'll see who could hit .330 with 45 bombs.

I think Fredward will at least have one season where he pulls .315-.330 with 40-45 bombs and 115+ RBIs, but I feel like he'll become even more of a doubles guy as soon as our lineup solidifies with some more bats. I just love Freeman's approach. I predict he's insanely good next year... maybe even pulling that MVP-caliber season.

As long as people are scared to face Kemp and would rather face Freeman, he has a good shot.
