Profar Suspended 80 Games

Hasn't been a good go of it for AA lately, but I still believe in him. If he tries to extent Snit once more, I will give up on him. 4 years removed from the World Series win now, so the sentimental ties to Snit with the fanbase should mostly be gone now. He should already be preparing the organization to move on from the old relics.

Obviously it's far too early to write anything off, but this feels like the kind of start that, if it continues into say a 5-20 start or something similar it could result in an early season managerial change. Something seems off with this team, has been for about a year now, and it doesn't feel like it's just the injuries. I mean most of us have felt like Snitker has been a net negative (at least strategically/analytically) for a while now. If he's somehow lost the touch in managing the personalities, what exactly does he bring to the table?

20% off at Golden Corral. But I do agree. Something has been off since last year. There's 0 fight in this team and they act like they just don't care. If this keeps going and we go 0-7 on this road trip to start the year it's gonna be interesting to see what happens. Bc this team has way to much talent to be playing like this.

I thought that the appeals process was so long that this would have had to have been in process when we signed him, but I admittedly know little about how this works.

Apparently, MLB bans quite a few recreational drugs. Maybe he was taking recreational MDMA or something like that, and didn't even realize it was banned? Doesn't have to be PED.
 
So when he comes back, I think you give him 70/30 playing time with Kelenic. Kelenic can be used to spot days off for Harris/Acuna. The hope is Kelenic hits better than last year since his defense will be solid. As we go down the stretch Kels gets more of the PT in LF and you wind down Profar since he's ineligible for postseason.

Or who knows, maybe Verdugo comes in and rakes.

Ultimately, Hyers was brought in to work on Kelenic, Ozzie, and Harris. Olson, Riley, Acuna are going to be what they are. Let's see if Hyers can instill some magic in the first three.

I'm also certain that AA let D'Arnaud walk to force Snit to play Murphy full-time with Tromp/Baldwin a spot catcher. But now I think Snit will have fallen in love with Baldwin and we're going to get the platoon again, so we may never see Murphy full-time ever.

I hope we lose enough this month that AA just cuts bait with Snit and Weiss (WW especially because he's been publicly vocal from his days managing Colorado how much he hates analytics and data, so trading Snit for WW would be awful). Don't know who we'd get to replace him, but the team seems pretty much on cruise control under Snit. Without Acuña stirring up some energy and fire into the team with his energy and antics, it's just a pretty lifeless team helmed by Snit.
 
You can rest assured, if this was Ohtani and the Dodgers, they would have swept it under the rug.

Maybe, though I wouldn't consider either a particularly long commitment.

Some of those extensions might scare him more.
