As I've aged, I have come to suffer a malady I call "partial awareness." As a result, I didn't know Bowie was battling cancer.
Just heard a story on NPR about his new album and the work sounds like something the genre-challenging artist Bowie had always produced. Even those who don't particularly like his music have to agree that his takes were fresh and there wasn't a musical road he was afraid of going down.

Been wondering that too. Amazing that they family were able to keep the treatment under wraps for 18 months. Haven't heard much of the new album yet, but sounds like he went out on top.
* Saw him live on the Reality Tour with the ex. Knew was a great singer, but hearing him live, he kicked it up a notch.
