Race

oddly enough first candidate was a Caribbean black woman who I also advanced that the team loved. No other blacks shockingly. All are white or Indian men.
Being on the hiring side of a job search is an eye-opening experience. I'm glad you are having it.

Its a shame when someone has an impressive resume but can't communicate what they've done.

With the advancement of AI enabled tools if you can't properly communicate you have no shot.

We have a kid I’ve coached since he was 6, and he’s said that every year.

The only time it’s ACTUALLY ever happened is by a black umpire and the guy either was suspended or lost his job.

Remember when Jussie Smollet was mugged by a bunch of racists? And Bubba Wallace was theeatened with a grlarage rope? And Nicholas Sandman smiled at an indian?

The phd is so adorable

The ratio for active users of just this forum that think that child is genetically predisposed to be stupid and/or a criminal seems to hover around 1:1 so I’m not sure why this would be shocking.
Yall have created enough fake demand for racism that im sure you want it to be true.

Its almost certainly not true (or it was probably from other non white kids -which are exempt from this unforgivable spoken word)

And even if it is true... who cares. Its a fucking word.

Not untrue - the only ones giving it power is well…. That person.

It is passed time to grow up

Dealing with people difficult or easy is a life skill. You don’t always get to move your kid to another job or school.

Figure it out

It’d actually be pretty great if children are *not* having slurs hurled at them. But who cares? The kids do.

We've gone from "it's not happening," to "even if it did happen, who cares," which means we only need thethe to come flying off the top rope with "it's good that it happened because she deserved it for being born inferior."

You can let things like that affect your whole life or not.

It isn’t up to anyone else

And it’s just metaphor for any bad thing

I’ll take his story as truth, but I’m more interested in what he suggests should happen next
I don't think French has an any sort of obligation to solve this problem. His willingness to highlight it is in and of itself a form of public service. sturg reacted with a "sure sure" + Jussie Smollet and tap with some comment about "taking money from the SPLC." Speaks volumes.

I agree. I don't think an insult is the equivalent of an actual assault. But I don't know why the first and second instincts would be (1) fake news, followed by (2) who cares, when it's would be really easy to just say it's a shitty thing for kids to be subjected to slurs.

My whole childhood consisted of being insulted and throwing insults back

I still contend it didnt happen, or if it did happen, it was from a non white person. And i also contend that its ridiculous that there is one single word that is so evil that we dont even dare to say the letters aloud... well, except the black people who say 100x a day... then it loses its evil power

I don't really disagree with a lot of that, but it's interesting that we're asking a teenage (?) girl to be held to a higher standard of maturity than fully grown thethe, who should be empathized with for holding racist views.

Basically thethe is given the green light to allow one negative experience with a black person to color his judgement on all future interactions with black people (even though there's still no proof that "blackness" had a single thing to do with what happened), meanwhile the teenage black girl is being told to get over her bad experience with a white person (let's assume it happened) and presumably not allow it to color all future interactions with white people.
