An independent investigation of the culture at Virginia Military Institute released Tuesday found ‘a racist and sexist culture,’ fierce resistance to change and a fear of retaliation among students and faculty who want to report problems to administrators.
“This investigation found that institutional racism and sexism are present, tolerated, and left unaddressed at VMI. The racist and misogynistic acts and outcomes uncovered during this investigation are disturbing,” said the report, authored by lawyers at the firm Barnes & Thornburg. “Although VMI has no explicitly racist or sexist policies that it enforces, the facts reflect an overall racist and sexist culture.”
It recommended requiring VMI, the nation’s oldest state-supported military college, to create a sweeping reform plan and to submit quarterly reports to the state on its progress. It also urged Gov. Ralph Northam (D) and the General Assembly to appoint a committee with no ties to VMI to evaluate those reports and address any lack of substantial progress.

It will be interesting to see how many people know better, but still pretend to believe this outcome wasn't preordained. Those are the people it's hard to respect, since they show such a lack of integrity and intellectual honesty.

I have several thoughts. One is that no one asks for one of these studies without knowing what the outcome will be. Another is that no one agrees to conduct one of these studies without knowing what the outcome had better be. I also think the poster who brought it here is an intelligent person, so he knows those things and disingenuously brought it anyway.
Beyond that, I am aware of how much the CRT sham has infiltrated the service academies, I'm aware of how the American political Left has managed to convince a lot of people to believe in a new definition of racism that they made up, and, most importantly, I think the service academies have better things to do with their time than this nonsense. Leave that to the silly party schools.
Essentially, the study was a sham, the intellectually dishonest "academic" environment that it was taken in was a sham, and I have no respect for the opinion, intelligence, or critical thinking skills of anyone willing to entertain the idea that a school that penalizes white applicants due to their race is somehow systemically racist in favor of white students.

So to recap: hundreds of female cadets report that there is widespread sexual assault, hundreds of minority cadets report that racial slurs are a regular occurrence on campus, and you believe they all must be lying because you don't want to believe that systemic racism or sexism can be real. And anyone who believes that those people might be telling the truth warrants no respect from you.

In a world where girls are told a look can be sexual assault and a lack of verbal consent can be rape, I will be suspicious of those numbers. Hundreds of cadets hear racial slurs in the music they listen to.
This is why the current environment of encouraged victimhood is unfortunate. The people who want to blame men, whitey, and preferably both for all of their problems will see this as reinforcement of their own bigotry. The rest of us won't trust it because the people who push it are unserious people who can't be treated like adults.
