Race

The Whoopi Goldberg stuff is ridiculous. Race is an artificial concept, not a biological one. There's no empirical way of determining race. It's a social construct.

Reading her comments, Whoopi Goldberg defines race differently than other people. That's fine. People should be able to disagree on the metes and bounds of social constructs. They rarely have hard edges.

Where I think she erred is applying her view of race to the Nazis. She might not define the groups the Nazis targeted as a race but the Nazis sure did. The Nazis racism against groups they defined as a race was a prime motivating force behind the Holocaust. So to say it's not about race is historically inaccurate.

That being said, people aren't trying to cancel her because she made a historically inaccurate statement. People are trying to cancel her because her definition of a social construct doesn't align with theirs. It's silly.
 
She should be cancelled only because she has been one of the prominent figures in spreading the mind virus to susceptible women.

You are certainly entitled to your position. As for me, I'll maintain that even those who would want to cancel me for my speech shouldn't be cancelled for theirs. I believe that if I stoop to their level I'll become the think I detest.

I think race is a bigger issue in the NFL than in other sports, for this reason:
70% of the players are young Black men who see themselves in Trayvon Martin
& George Floyd. Most owners, execs and coaches are older white men who see
themselves in Donald Trump and Tommy Tuberville.
