How did not being afraid to throw the ball 10 yards treat Vick last night?

The throw to DeSean,he could not get his 2nd foot in, he's running a go route and Vick throws the ball way outside on the sideline, just because he got 1 foot in, doesn't mean it was possible to get 2nd one in.

Smith checked down and didn't make mistakes. When his team needed a 1D, he got it. Not throwing the ball downfield prevents Smith from being a great QB, but moving the chains and protecting the ball means he's certainly not a bad QB.

LOL off Vick being better than Smith bc he throws some int's downfield.

Alex Smith has a 61.0 Comp%, 3.8 TD% 6.4 Y/A 5.37 NY/A only thing he does well (and why he works for KC) is not turn the ball over.

Vick conversely has a lower comp% but has a much higher TD% a 9.1 Y/A and 7.47 NY/A. So smith completes mroe passes and turns it over less but Vick throws for more yards every time he drops back and puts it in the endzone more.

Vick had a bad game yesterday, but KC has a pretty great D.

He could have gotten his foot in easily. Vick could have made a better pass that's for sure but that was a catchable ball, Jackson had poor sideline awareness on that play.

No, the ball was clearly heading in that direction, there was nothing he could do.

I know you like to continue with your stupid notion that Vick is an accurate passer, but he clearly isn't.

So? Because the ball heading to the sideline means that the guy can't get their feet in bounds. Jackson could have easily drug his right foot.

He was wide open and any decent throw is a td. Instead he threw it out of bounds. He also over threw DeSean twice when he was wide open. Missing a guy when he only has a step on a defender is totally different than missing wide open guys.

And you still make it seem like hitting someone 40+ yards down field in stride is easy. He didn't throw it out of bounds. Jackson could have easily brought it in. Wouldn't have been a gimme it would have required skill but IIRC Jackson is one of the higher paid WR in the NFL. If Julio did the same thing I'd be upset about him doing that. It was 100% catchable. yes I said before that it could have been better, but it should have been caught. All Jackson had to do was drag his feet after making the grab.

He didn't have to hit the guys in stride, thats the point, DeSean was WIDE OPEN 4 times.

And even if DeSean could have made a miraculous catch (impossible), instead of having a TD, a bad throw makes it far less yardage.

But Vick is accurate......the lulz.

Or you could go to the Redskins game. If Vick had any accuracy, they would have scored 40 in the first half, but missed wide open guys.

or you could watch last night.

Weeden is buttcheeks. Though Freeman isn't really much better. Henne is the guy the Bucs should target. He's not gonna win you games but he's right around average.

Vicent Jackson/Mike Williams/Martin >>>>>> Anything Weeden had in Cleveland

Not saying he is a stud but he's good enough to win 9-10 games with TB's O and their D.

You do realize that it is the NFL, Wide open means that a throw a degree or 2 off can easily be overthrown or defended. A 5 yard gap can be closed in half a second.

QBs with any accuracy at all hit Desean on those 4 passes against SD at a very high rate. A half decent thrower drops 40 in the first half vs. the Skins.

Last night....the lulz.

Right, cause that's how it works. In the NFL you make 100% of the passes. Teh lulz

*high rate.

Vick is not accurate at all, have some crow.

If Vick is inaccurate what does that make RG3? A lowly 63% comp% when he played the terrible eagles D and Packers D? At least Vick has the excuse of his stats being hurt by the Chiefs. But he did his job against the bad defenses he faced, unlike RG3.

Vick played terrible defenses in the Skins and Chargers. Thought comp% is not the sole measure of comp%, RG3 is 63% this year (months removed from knee surgery); 66% last year. (First 16ish games vs. how many years has vick been in the league and doesn't sniff RG3's numbers?)
