NFC is a joke right now. Falcons despite having no business being anywhere near the playoffs. Sure they're not as bad as the Lions, but they're not much better. Good luck and grit is getting them wins they have no business having.

Hopefully the buttkickings start here. Hosting Tampa should be a blowout. Then they go to Carolina which is kind of a cointoss that we should lose, Carolina isn't bad or good. But they're better than Atlanta. Then you go to San Fran which should be a murdering. Then we get Detroit at home which should be a win, but maybe detroit plays the spoiler. Travel to Buffalo which should be the biggest ass kicking we get. THen host the saints right after that which if they're healthy should be a thorough whooping.Would be nice to wind up around 6 wins. That should net a high pick in the draft. Seems like lots of teams will be in the 7-9 win range this year.

It would be classic Atlanta to lose enough where we're not in contention but win enough to spoil getting a good draft pick.

What a train wreck the Jags were this year. Thankfully, Trevor Lawrence won't have to endure anymore of it. I mean as a Titans fan I obviously enjoy the Jags being dysfunctional. But Lawrence is such an easy guy to root for and is obviously super talented. Certainly hope his career doesn't get ruined in Jax.

Jacksonville a graveyard for QB prospects.

It's like DE picks for the Falcons.

I'm still mad about the Jamaal Anderson pick. That guy had the slowest first step of any DE I've ever seen. You let an NFL O-lineman get his feet set and you're gonna have a hard time.

Never really understood that pick. I get Beasley and him not making it was a bit more shocking. Anderson was quite a stretch. Can you imagine if we had Patrick Willis or Darrelle Revis?

The 2000s weren't a great year for Falcons picks. Vick was really good and I'm sad he wasn't a better NFL player. TJ Duckett wasn't a bad RB but a horrible pick. Imagine an alternate universe where we drafted Ed Reed and Brian Westbrook? Of course the what if game can be played over and over again, but Duckett was almost univerally panned as a pick. 2004 was Deangelo Hall a good pick. 2004 had Michael Jenkins as well. Not a terrible pick, but Jenkins wasn't great. There wasn't much greatness taken around him though. 05 Had Roddy, arguably the second best pick of the decade. Discussed Anderson. Then the far and away best pick of the decade with Ryan, Baker was a good pick, Brown would have been better in the end of course. Jerry wasn't considered a bad pick but right after him Went Davis and Matthews, both probowlers.

2010s things changed around. Picks were much better. Dimitroff was clearly better than McKay at drafting.

Yeah, I thought Beasley was a good pick at the time and in 2016 it looked like he was going to be a stud with 15.5 sacks. Not sure what went wrong from there.

I was yelling at the TV when Anderson was picked. A one year wonder DE from Arkansas who put up some shiny sack numbers because he benefited from a lot of stunts. The Falcons looked at his good measurables, his sack numbers, and looked no deeper. I wanted Willis. He was about as sure thing of a star defender as there was in that draft. Anderson ended up with just 7.5 sacks in his entire career.

Well Landry was the top rated defensive prospect if I recall correctly.

Him or Gaines Adams. But I know Revis was super highly rated.

Imagine an alternative universe with Revis locking things down instead of Dunta Robinson.

Falcons were in a tough spot if they couldnt trade down. All of Surtain, Parsons, Sewell, Pitts, and Chase look like studs of the non-QB's. Too early to call the QB's, busts until they get better coaching staffs/situations.

Some of the QBs I doubt. I think the best are Lawrence and Lance. But you're not wrong, coaching situation is super important.

I need to thank the Saints for giving me the highlight of old man Brady trying to scramble for the first down and fumbling and turning the ball over. That was funny.
