REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Not sure Jax passes him up but stranger things have happened.

Jax drafted Gabbert, he needs more time haha.

And Bradford is a twatwaffle. Last time I listen to yahoo's suggestion. Austin was a good play my ass. Should have left Nicks in. Watch him blow up.

49ers needed a game like this. A dominating defensive game albeit against the awful looking Rams. I was wrong about them being a surprise so far. Kaepernick did his best Alex Smith game and it was just what the offense needed. More Gore and the rushing attack were severely lacking. Staley is okay apparently as well. The extra rest will help him out.

Much needed win. Rams look horrible. I wouldn't give up on Bradford yet because they just can't run the ball at all.

Either way, the defense consistently caused pressure with 4 down lineman without Aldon Smith and I think Tramaine Brock earned some more play over Nhamdi soon. Just beat Houston next week and weeks 2/3 can be forgotten.

These Thursday night games have been terrible. Not sure why the league doesn't manipulate the schedule so that these games are played by teams coming off a bye. Next week's Browns-Bills game should be a doozy

Thursday games should be abolished. Quite simply it's a travesty. I agree about teams coming off the bye because it's about the only fair way to do it.

They're giving every team a chance to play in primetime so that means there's going to be some mismatches. If you don't like the Browns-Bills match up then don't watch it. Watching football is better than not watching football.

I'm with zito...I'll check in on the game because it's Thursday night and it's live NFL, but I don't think the scheduling is conducive to good football. I'd much prefer having all Sunday games and MNF.

Seems like the league foud a new revenue stream. Fines collected every season since 2010

2010 - 3.16 M
2011 - 7.30 M
2012 - 13.57 M
2013 - 6.17 M

Seems like the NFL's goal is to bankroll their lawsuit with fines to players. Hopefully the NFLPA sees this trend and fights the NFL next time around. They're taking way too much money from the players while reaping the benefits.

if players don't f*ck up, we wouldn't be worrying about this. They have a brain unless concussions knocked some sense out of them. Play right on the field, play right when off the field and you won't be fined.

10K for one play? Unless it's McDonkey Suh dirty then it shouldn't happen. These guys have been playing a certain way (the way the fans like to watch) for years.

Rules are rules. Abide by them or get fine. You can change to fit the rules, if not, you don't belong in the league.

Some guys are getting fined for making clean plays. Eagles LB who knocked out floyd followed the rules and made a clean play FLoyd just happened to fall into a bad position. I think he got a 15K fine.

Wahhhh wahhhhh wahhhhhhh

Aren't you one of the folks who cries about taxes? Would you happily give your boss 1% of your salary for doing your job right? I'm OK with fining guys for **** behavior, fighting, dirty plays, etc. But if someone is playing good football and a bad circumstance happens (like a guy breaks down for a tackle and the WR slips and causes a nasty blow to their head) why are they getting fined?

Only dumber **** is the NFL fining guys for wearing unlicensed ****. Do the players get a cut of their deal with Nike? If they do then whatever, if they don't, then the NFL is scummier than I thought.

At least baseball hasn't been totally ruined for me like Goodell is doing for the NFL. I swear every year goes by and I'm less and less interested in professional football.

Gronk and Amendola out Sunday.

Really thought Gronk was gonna play in this one. I think the Pats may lose. Hate hearing all the reports that say Pats are saying Gronk has been healthy enough for a week or 2, and that it is Gronk and his agent that are keeping him off the field. Love Gronks talent, but getting tired of the more off the field news with him.

,If that guy is healthy you have to do whatever it takes to keep him. Prior to his injuries he was not only one of the top TE's in football, he was probably a top 5 weapon in all of football.
