REAL FOOTBALL Thread

I didn't find the reffing that bad.

The awarding a TD thing is in the rules. At some point the refs have the right to step in and continue the game.

I do think we're moving towards a ruling for the tush push. defenders are cheating because what's the downside? If they're going to get the first down or TD anyway why not try to jump/line up in the neutral zone etc. Chris Jones was in the neutral zone or offsides multiple times yesterday but it wasn't called. That's the best defensive strategy and it sucks. It makes for bad football. And I suspect a change in rule from the NFL, like limiting the number of players in a box established on the OL to like 7 or 8. TO stop the Tush Push and the full sell out defense. Booth review for neutral zone infractions. Etc.

Like look at Chris Jones

The Eagles found a cheat code and do it better than anyone. Largely bc the QB is so short and strong. My issue with it is the Eagles OL almost always is lined up offside and they almost always allow the center and guard to move slightly before the snap. They are basically like well its the tush push, we can just let that slide.

I dont know why they dont go back to not allowing to push the ball carrier. What was wrong with that call?

It also helps that Mailata is a ****ing freak of a human being. He can blow out any defensive lineman in the league.

Garrett officially requesting a trade. Cleveland likely prefers him to go to an NFC team. The Lions seem like a natural fit to put on the opposite end of Hutchinson. They have a lot of cap space and not a lot of holes to fill. The Bucs, and Commanders make a lot of sense too. Maybe the Eagles too (barf). I am sure the Falcons will have interest, but does Garrett view them as legitimate contenders?

The next question is, what does an elite edge rusher pushing 30 command in a trade? I think a 1st round pick easily.. 1 exec said he wouldn't hesitate to give up 2 1st for him. I wouldn't do that, but if you're a team picking in the back half of the 1st round, a 2025 1st and 2026 2nd rounder would be pretty appealing.

By god Hutch and Myles on the same line? You can't defend that.

Falcons would be morons to not look into it. But I don't think they have the cap space.

But I think Lions or Commanders are most likely. Eagles would be the most fun team for him to go to.

Don't think the lions can swing it. They have been doling out some mega contracts that start hitting in 2026. Plus they are gonna make Hutch highest paid player this off-season. A deal for miles probably requires another record contract for him too.

BTW with this News, Browns should be looking to trade out of 2 or take the best player that isn't a corner. Probably Abdul. This is gonna be a long rebuild for them. Might as well punt it. Losing your only elite player.

Go full tank in 2025 and hope you get number 1 overall for arch.

THen shelter him for a year and let Deshaun get his ass whopped more.

Saw this on X:

The Deshaun Watson trade cost the Browns three first-round picks, Nick Chubb’s prime and Myles Garrett.

The Browns might have been a sneaky favorite to win the SB had they kept Baker and used those 1st round picks wisely.

Yeah.

If instead of trading that 1 they drafted Jordan Davis or Kyle Hamilton. Assume they're in the 20s next year they could have gotten Kincaid or LaPorta or a receiver. They could have been good.

I can't believe Lamar didn't win back to back MVPs. Allen also had an amazing year but Lamar's season was legitimately one of the top 5 best offensive seasons in NFL history.

Only thing I can figure is that MVP voters handicapped Lamar due to King Henry having such a terrific year.

I think it was fatigue from Lamar winning last year's dog **** MVP race. Last year seemingly no one wanted the MVP, and honestly, should have probably gone to a non-QB (Lamb or CMC)

Lamar was deserving last year if you're going MVP is primarily a QB first award. CMC and Purdy had their shot but the game vs. Baltimore killed their chances.

Lamar is getting the Mike Trout/Barry Bonds/etc. where they didn't get awards because they didn't blow out their opponents enough.

I find it interesting that in games in which King Henry had 20 carries or more, the Ravens were undefeated.
