Thats not how he has ever played the position. Ryan always makes his decisions quickly and is the reason why he is among the least sacked QB's for the last five years.

He does make decisions quickly, as do Brady, as do Manning, but give them time and they'll love that as well.

Listen, I do not watch even half the Falcon games that you do but when I watch Ryan he is often getting rid of the ball with nobody around him. That is just how he likes to play. That is one of my knocks on him. Sometimes he doens't stay in long enough to make the bigger play.

Only time Ryan rushes to get the ball out is on screens or designed plays which the Falcons run a lot. I'm sure he'd love more time in the pocket to let Julio be more of a deep threat.

reub, will you at least admit you jumped the gun on kaep AT LEAST a little a bit? you certainly talked about him like he was already elite, and if he weree elite, he would be playing better this year. he has flaws and they will need to be fixed to be anywhere truly close to top-5.

He has not performed to the level I expected this year without question. I don't think that means I jumped the gun at all. Last time we had a healthy Vernon Davis Kaep had an incredible game. I will wait to see what happens when we get some more skill position talent out there. Even a guy like Tom Brady can't work wonders without his guys out there. Manning is absolutely incredible but look who he has on his team?

Kaep is going to be fine. He still has all the physical characteristics that I spoke of at the beginning of the year. There were a few drop passes last game but overall I thought he played well. There was no need to pass it because the defense has been incredible since the Indy game. The defense is going to get even better when Willis/Smith come back and now that Brock has been promoted.

Ryan is one of the 5 best QBs in the NFL this year and was one of the 5 best last year. What more can you ask of him? Play defensive end and generate a pass rush? Play DT and generate a push? Play OL and block? Ryan could play better, but if he does play any better he'll be not too far from the amazing season Peyton is having and Ryan doesn't have the tools Peyton does nor his skill.

Glazer is reporting that Julio might be out for the year.

Holy crap. Say hello to Clowney.

That is not good news at all. I dunno if even without Julio the Falcons will tank that bad, but yeah there's no shot at the playoffs not in the stacked NFC. If I had to pick though, I would suck for Clowney. Guy would instantly make the Falcons pass D much better.

When he wants to play. Clowney is a chump. Constantly out of position, constently abused in the run game and now tells coaches just before game that he doesn't want to play.

Man, that Stephen Jackson signing sure was a difference maker. Who would have thought differently?

Lulz that's not what you said. You said it was a bad signing despite the fact that it isn't cause the Falcons are only out a few million if he sucks.

Clowney will be more motivated in the pros I'm sure. He'll be on a rookie deal and he knows if he beasts it he'll get paid big bucks.

I've heard people say Barr from UCLA is better than Clowney.

Falcons need OL help.

Wonder how good Ryan will be when Gonzalez retires.

Was talking with some people about this, I wonder this as well.

Easier to scheme as a defense without not having to cover the middle of the field.

Falcons just need to re-write the whole script. They still hvae a top 10 QB but need to change the way they build there team. Its time for them to focus on the line play. Need to beef up the O/D line. I don't care if its there first three picks this year but they need some impact players along their line. Falcons get beat up in every game they play.

My guess is that if they don't find an acceptable TE (which they may never know) Roddy will be the short guy, Julio the mid long and Douglas for screens and long.

Whoa whoa whoa. The Falcons had a good OL up until about 3 years ago. Age got them, and bad drafting. They drafted plenty of OL's to this point, but exactly zero have panned out. its not like they weren't building there, but they damn sure whiffed. Even Konz and Holmes look like whiffs.

TE is a luxury, and can be found later on. I doubt we are bad enough for the Clowney sweepstakes, but Barr is a great consolation prize (or the LT from Meeechigan). We need depth at almost every spot.

It doesn't matter if you fail you have to keep on drafting them. Look at the Lions. Whiffed on three WR's and then got Megatron.

Falcons took like 3 lineman 2 drafts ago (sorry forgot last draft was 2013) or something like that. Though I wish they took Warmack last year but I don't think he's done anything this year so who cares.
