REAL FOOTBALL Thread

I counted us out. I am glad we won, but no celebrations. Win a ring and that's all that matters. Quest for six! Anything short is a failure.

Dude when your team is as good as the Niners are, you don't count them out. Especially when you're only down by 4 with an entire second half to play. Your fan card should be taken away.

lol can you be more of a puss? A team gets beat by 13 at home and it's because the refs favored them? How about that penalty on Skuta right before the pick. Helmet to helmet...refs tried to help Scam and his gang. Go study more on draft picks. I will worry about playing another game.

San Francisco had 3 drives extended by unneccessary roughness calls on third down. They had 0 called against them. One roughing the passer.

Compare the hard data.

San Francisco and Carolina both had 16 first downs by rush or pass. Carolina was more efficient on 3rd down, Carolina had more net yards. Only stat San Fran had the edge over Carolina was turnovers (which to be fair, the last one likely had a lot to do with Cam pressing to make a play that he may not have done in a closer game or with the lead, or tied. And the only other area they had the advantage in was penalties, where SF had 5 penalties on them for 40 yards, 2 first downs, while Carolina had 8 called on them for 5 first downs.

I don't expect you to be objective, considering you want to quit on your team as fast as possible, but to anyone with a pair of eyes, the Niners were given at a minimum 7 points by the refs, maybe more.

I think you can make an argument either way. 49ers defense absolutely dominated the second half and even if you take 10 points off the 49ers still win. I will admit the whole feel of the game was shifted early on but you can't assume that Carolina was giong to win.

Great work. The Panthers were way too amped up. Their inexperience showed early on. Veteran teams know what they can get away with. The 49ers were in their heads right away. Don't act like a bunch of thugs who have never won anything and the refs won't have to throw flags for fouls after the play.

But that doesn't explain why when Boldin headbutted a defender there was no flag or when Bowman swung at a lineman there was no flag. Both were as blatantly obvious as the ones called against the panthers. Refs sucked and favored the Niners, it was blatant.

Never said Carolina would win, would have been a better game. Hate seeing refs influence a game so bad. Yesterday they kept the Saints in the game. Today they gave the Niners probably 7-10 points, and potentially took 4 points from Carolina. I'm fine with refs letting play happen or calling it tight, as long as they're consistent. Today they weren't and San Fran very well may have won regardless. But the game would have been much closer. If they called heavy could be 14-19 going donw the line, in a lighter called game would ahve been 10-16 going down to the wire.

San Fran played very well (especially their D) but Carolina deserved a better game.

I agree with this.

Never seen a "Falcons fan" cry so much about a division rival losing a game.

No doubt in my mind the 40whiners were the better team today. Carolina is probably just as talented but experience in the playoffs makes a HUGE difference, especially when the game is on the line. Carolina IMO played hard but seemed to absolutely not have a clue where they were or what they were doing much of the time. SF was the better team today, but that still doesn't mean the zebras didn't sport-fook Carolina. That happens and is one of the main reasons why the NFL is going downhill and joining the NBA and WWE, it's just REALLY annoying when a prick such as Harbaugh or Tom Coughlin makes such an obvious ass of themselves every single time a call goes against them yet their team is among the team that gets away with so much sh!t every game. Just wait till next week when an even worse offender (Seahags) will probably get away with more against Harbaugh. He'll probably be working the refs in the media all week. The NFL needs to get rid of this loser commish (if he can get him disconnected from John Mara's genitalia long enough) and do something about the officiating or the viewers will start to diminish.
