REAL FOOTBALL Thread

You're a twit, OK I get it. RG3 was great at getting stats when **** didn't matter.

DYAR by season and DVOA by season

Ryan 2008 - 1,012 and 25.3%
Ryan 2009 - 702 and 12.4%
RGME 2012 - 727 and 16.6%
RGMe 2013 - -60 and -13.1%

So yeah keep being a twit, I really don't care.

I guess the other more important stat too, Ryan 20-10 RGMe 12-16

Not sure how you can use RG3's season against him last year. I treat it as a complete wash. I said in the offseason that he should not have played. Redskins did that kid a huge disservice my playing him. They could have started Cousins all year and flipped him for a second rounder and then RG3 would have been ready to go this year. Terrible decision by that organization.

Even if you ignore this season, Ryan is still a better passer. Ryan has 1 season his whole career with a DYAR under 1000. Heck Ryan only has 2 seasons below 1,100 his first 2. RG3 needs to get on Ryan's rookie level before Giles can even pretend like he's superior to Ryan.

63% completion percentage, 229 yards per game, 7.5 ypa, 36 td, 17 int.

60% completion percentage, 212 yards per game, 7.2 ypa, 38 td, 25 int

And Ryan plays in a passing heavy offense with great weapons in a dome.

Ryan is a damn good QB but if RG3 is healthy then he is a more impactful player than Ryan.

Yup your'e a twit thanks for ignoring the real facts.

More fun facts. Washington played last year the 31st easiest offensive schedule according to DYAR and in 2012 the 26th. Could that maybe have to do with his numbers? No he hasn't had it easy so far. The NFC Easy si stacked with top class defenses.

Please man...you can be married to your stats all you want. RG3 was unstoppable in his rookie season. Ryan has never gotten to that level of dominance over a game. Now, RG3 could be permanently damaged and then he just becomes another good QB but that level he got to in his rookie season was amazing.

Ryan's rookie year he had for passing options, Roddy White, Michael Jenkins (who's out of the NFL) Harry Douglas, Justin Peele, and while Turner was a great runner, he was total garbage in the passing game, both as a blocker and receiver.

RG3 had his rookie season had Garcon, Moss, Hankerson, and Fred Davis/Paulsen in a similar terrible receiving RB who's great at running.

Did you not watch Ryan play the Niners 2 NFCCGs ago? Against one of the best defenses in the NFLthrew for just under 400 yards, completed 70% of his passes, and made only one real mistake, fumbling a snap.

Dude, do you even konw what happened with the 49ers that year? The defense was horrible when Justin Smith got hurt and stayed horrible for the rest of the the year. If it wasn't for Kaep in the postseason they would have been eliminated against GB and ATL.

Roddy White at that time was better than all those options combined and it isn't even close. RG3 had so much of an impact that he turned an almost undrafted RB into a great player.

Trent Green, Cutler, Palmer, Rodgers (last year), etc. etc

I'll give you Cutler and Palmer. Rodgers is pretty mobile himself (at least more so than the average QB) so I wouldn't use him a great example. And missing 4- 5 games for the first time in his career is hardly enough to warrant as injury prone. If he misses more time next season, you might have an argument.

I also wouldn't use Jay Cutler since he hold the ball forever. Hits are important whether in the pocket or out of the pocket.

Their defense wasn't horrible. They looked pretty horrible cause 4 of their last 5 games not counting the superbowl came against Brady, WIlson, Rodgers and Ryan. Not exactly hitting bad teams. They shut the Cards down fine. And Ryan massively outclassed Rodgers and Wilson. If you wanted to see a pathetic defense, you should have watched what the Falcons did.

I don't want to say too much as it may venture into postings that would belong in the section where politics go, but it seems to me that eventually, the Washington Redskins will have to change their name because of all the pressure the P.C. crowd is pushing. Anyone else think that way?

P.S., while I can't stand the team, being a Cowboys fan, I hope their name stays. Mainly for tradition.

Sadly, I agree. The team name will change due to people complaining about it and it doesn't involve them in any shape of form
