REAL FOOTBALL Thread

I feel like Crabtree is the most underrated football player on these boards. Its really mystifying to me how you guys don't realize how good this guy is. HE GOT HURT last yaer and was never 100%.

Huh? One season over 1000 yards. Blame it on whatever it is you're going to blame it on, but there's no way you can put him in the class with Dez, Green, Julio Jones, D. Thomas, Marshall, Fitz, etc. He is not there, at least not yet.

Team situations are important when comparing stats.

Oh ok go pull crap out of the garbage that says Crabtree is somehow elite, despite the fact no other football fan at all would agree. He's top 3, we'll just agree now and save all this time.

Megatron had 1300 yards with Jon Kitna and other bums. Talent flies above QB when you're talking about a 1. Only example I can think of a great receiver sucking is Fitz, and he still was around 800 yards with truly terrible QB.

I'm fairly sure thethe wasn't using sarcasm. He has pointed out a Dez boner in the past.

Oh? Damn.
IMO Dez is at worst 3rd in the game, the guy really does it all. Physical, fast, strong, great leaper. His hands aren't amazing, but they're very good.

I so badly wish the Cowboys had a competent coach/play caller. This offense could be really, really good with one. I like it* and it will be productive, but could be a lot better.

*"it" as in the players on it. The play calling has left a lot to be desired for a long time now.

I'd rank the Wrs in the NFL right now as (if all healthy of course)

Megatron

Tier 2
Dez
Julio
Green
Thomas

Then you have Marshall, and the guys with the ability but they're old in Fitz and Andre who can maybe sneak into that top 5 spot.

I have never once said that Crabtree was even a top 5 WR.

Yeah I know, maybe I got too overzealous there. I was getting the feeling you were going in that kind of direction and thought you dissed Dez so I wasn't happy.

I legit think that the debate for the best WR in the NFL currently is a toss up between Calvin and Dez. Maybe thats more observational bias on my part because I've seen Dez more but that guy does amazing things on a football field.

SF is over rated on here. Xrabtree is good, not great. Boldin is good, but aging. Stevie. Johnson is vastly overated.

Denver is much better.

I would take Wash, Dal, Chi, Cincy over SF. Maybe even NO

lol your hate for the 49ers is second to none.

Out of curiosity. Where would you rank him.

I'd have to think about it but I think if I looked around the league I could still make a case for top 10. He was really breaking out with Kaep. Crabtree is extremely elusive and has great hands (similar to Boldin). When you finally get a QB with a rocket arm your talents are maximized. Him getting hurt already definitely goes against him but I saw a great player at the end of 2012-2013. Last year I saw a player that was recovering from an injury.
