REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Carrol had a big part in picking players as well, as he came from USC.

You may be right. I have no clue what happens in their war room. Whatever the case, Seattle has the secret sauce right now and don't look like they are going to stop anytime soon.

He clearly could feel him after the 1st step. It's impossible not too. And yet he took another step backwards, stepped on Rodgers again, and put all his weight down. Rodgers moving his leg is irrelevant. Suh would clearly know that Rodgers body was still behind him anyways. He clearly shifts his weight to his heel and lingers on the leg. And he never even made an attempt to pick up his feet as if it were an accident.

Again, you can excuse the first step. But the 2nd step backward combined with the shifting of the weight to the heel, the lingering, and the complete lack of remorse clearly show intent.

Detroit has just as many stars and GB/DET is a much more relevant rivalry right now than GB/Dallas. The conspiracy theory doesn't hold any water. Suh is a dirty player with lengthy track record. He isn't going to get any favors from anyone.

Of course he knew what he was doing. He's got a rap sheet longer than Bonnie and Clyde!! That's why he butted him down and then why he especially DIDN'T look back especially after that second step, would any of you take a second step back on something or someone and NOT look?? With that said, as a Cowboys fan I don't agree with the suspension. I don't want to see an entire team punished for his individual acts. I"d rather see him get a huge fine against HIM not against his entire team.

Just my take.

I don't think there's any question that Suh's reputation played into this, which is one of the main reasons why you strive to NOT earn a reputation like this. I still think he did it on purpose, but I still disagree with a suspension, punish the guy if you believe he's guilty, not the whole team.

I can agree with this. A suspension for a playoff game, when you can't even prove intent… is ridiculous

Jim Wyatt of the Nashville Tennessean believes the Titans would pass on both Florida State QB Jameis Winston and Oregon QB Marcus Mariota with the No. 2 overall pick in May's draft.

It sounds like the Titans are seriously considering going all-in on Zach Mettenberger as their 2015 starter.

LOL

Jesus Christ.

Can Peyton retire already and buy the team and fire these artards?

Be honest Carp, it isn't any worse than the rumors a couple of weeks back that the Titans were going to try and trade for Cutler.... I'm not saying it's any better either, just that it isn't any worse.

But the team is full of guys like that and they've done nothing to address the issue. It keeps happening so I don't feel bad for other players

I'd much rather trade a 6th or 7th rounder for Cutler and see if Wiz can do his magic on him. Mettenberger wasn't terrible for a rookie QB. But he wasn't particularly good either.

I will give Suh a pass because it's the first dirty thing he did all year and it wasn't really that bad. Especially coming from a guy who's committed dirty and dangerous blocks, and kicked a dude in the dick, and other malfeasances.

Remember, you wouldn't just be getting Cutler you'd also be getting that 120Million contract and if the Titans are "misguided" enough to take that on you can be guaranteed nobody else would ever do them the same favor. I think the trick with Cutler would be to take all his salary for year and only pay him for the things he does right and take away for his eff ups and then only pay him after the season is over.

Kinda the same thing with Suh, take his money for the entire season and hide it under his copy of "How to Conduct Yourself on the Field During Your NFL Career" and you could bet it'd all still be there at the end of the season. :happy0157:

Cutler wouldn't be owed anything guaranteed from the Titans. I can't see him being traded, they will cost themselves 4 million to move him, cause his cap hit is 19.5 even losing his salary they're paying money. If they wait one more year, they save 13M cutting him and see if he works with a new coach. It's the smarter football move. Even if they draft a QB, let Cutler be an expensive punching bag.

Remember when he signed that deal, someone said he was worth it more than Ryan. Oh the lulz on that one.

Cutler is owed less than 50 million guaranteed though. Not sure how contracts work in the NFL, but I assume Chi could kick in some money as well couldn't they?

Signing team pays all guaranteed money. So Tennessee would have pretty much 0 risk in 2015 as that is a guaranteed season they could cut him with no penalty at any point.
