I mean, he wants that good (or bad). Two picks. Missed a wode open receiver for a td that bounced off Barwins helmet. The Eagles have among the worst pass defenses in the NFL

LMAO you act like that pass was easy. Eagles ran a super aggressive blitz. Ryan had a tiny window to get that ball into and not a lot of time to do it.

First INT was also a ridiculously great play. Ryan holds little fault there. Alonso took an amazing route and made a circus catch. 2 things a LB pretty much never does.

Second one was bad, it was a bad coverage read. Ryan was hardly terrible. He wasn't at his best, but he was solid.

FWIW, he was 9th in DYAR for the week, Cousins was 19th.

That was a dumb throw that alonso made great catch on.

You want to compare Ryan to Cousins? Ouch.

It wasn't a dumb throw. He had a LB matched up on Roddy White, 9 times out of 10 that is a catch. Alonso took probably the one route that got him in the right place and made a sick catch.

And I wasn't comparing him to Cousins, you did

Ryan doing his best cousins impersonation tonight.

Alonso is a great linebacker. Bad decision, underthrown. At best the pass gets knocked down; at worst its int.

It wasn't underthrown. Unless you wanted him to put it up higher. The ball was headed right to Roddy's chest. Alonzo made a fantastic play that if the same events unfolded again he probably won't make. If that play is ran 10 times, and he makes a strong break 5 times it's caught, 4 times it's broken up, 1 time it's picked. ANd that's with a strong break. We're again talking about Roddy White being covered by a linebacker. Use your head, or what little of it you have.

The linebacker caught the ball....how was it not underthrown again? If the path to Roddys chest is blocked by a linebacker, how is it a good decision? Does Ryan not know Alonso is one of the best linebackers in football?

Niners were much better than I expected, but I think it was partially due to the problems of the Vikings OL (tons of injuries) and they lost their best defensive player very early (Floyd) and got zero pass rush. The OL looked good and Hyde looked awesome, but they will be held back by the QB. Impressive defense by them; Mangini might save the coaches job.

You're probably right about Kap. He looks the same to me. I was actually surprised the OL looked as good as they did. From the center to the right side, they we're revolving doors in preseason.

Hyde said he watched tape of what Alfred Morris did to them and used that to play on some of the defenders weaknesses.

I was confused reading reports online of the Niners possibly contending for the #1 pick. I knew the defense would be stout. Huge run stoppers, two solid OLB's, one of the best LB's in the business in Bowman, very solid safeties and up and coming corners that have yet to look lost out there. Figure the defense alone is worth 5 wins. Then you have Hyde running in a scheme similar to what he ran in college. The addition of Torrey Smith is nice if Kap can ever figure out how to use him correctly. There's talent at every position other than C, RG and RT and that could end up being the undoing of the team. Especially since Kap doesn't handle pressure very well. Once they hit teams with a good outside rusher on that side of the line, Kap will get exposed again.

Ryan I'm sure knows how good Alonso is. Do you not realize that Roddy White still makes Alonso look really ****ing bad 9 times out of 10 on that play? Alonso took a perfect route and made a spectacular catch.

why bother dude?
he has nothing better to do with the Nats and Skins down and out. Let it go.

Matty Melt came in as the 23rd ranked QB in week 1 based on pro football focus so maybe you should put some homer glasses down and trust me. As I said, he wasn't great or terrible; somewhere in between.

Giles...

"Hankerson = Julio Jones"

But I need to put my homer glasses down because I said averaging 8.8 YPA was good.

Ryan under threw the pass by about a foot.... But it was absolutely the right decision to make the throw

Agreed.

If Alonso doesn't make a circus catch, no one brings up that play up ever. I thought Ryan made a couple of other decisions and throws that were far worse.

Add 1ft to that throw and maybe 2ft to the one off Barwins helmet and we are talking about a top 5 performance in week 1.
