REAL FOOTBALL Thread

I'm kinda torn on this one. First you have to love the win against what I consider to be the best team in football right now, but this is 4 in a row against some teams some of which they probably shouldn't have beaten and while that's great today, it also pretty much guarantees that we'll never get rid of Garret's sorry arse, unless Jerry manages to find those pictures he has of Jerry cavorting with farm animals. ;)

9ers, if the league loves the Cowboys so much why did they sport-pfark them last year over the Elliot 6 game suspension, which was a big a kangaroo court job as the Russians had in the 1930s under Stalin or the Chinese in the 1950s-1970s under Mao? I've said for year that the ref and even the leave love to manipulate games, races, etc. The league really needs to get involved and have the FBI or some other agency with actual investigative resources and start looking into these aholes' bank account, offshore accounts, private islands, and so on, but of course that's the last thing they want. They HAVE to maintain that air of pristine competition and no outside interference. Not only would their fan base turn on them but who knows what Vegas might do to them.

Keep your head up cajun, your Saints aren't going anywhere and like you said a loss right now might help to refocus them just at the right time. Too much easy winning can be just as big a distraction and detriment to a team as the brutal losing streaks like the Browns went through for so long. I still think we'll see a Saints-Pats Super Bowl. Just my opinion though.

The league hates the Cowboys after Jerry tried to stick it to them last year regarding Elliot and whatnot. They had a record number of games in a row where offensive holding wasn't called against who they were playing. Became pretty obvious. But yes overall the refs sucked last night.

in a league where offensive line holding happens just about every single play, the cowboys went *9 games* without an opposing offensive lineman being called for a hold. the cowboys defensive line features demarcus lawrence.

that is simply not possible, and insane.

You almost have to go back to October for the last time the Saints D has given up more than 17 points. 5 straight games. Only allowed more than 23 points three times all season and 2 of them were in the first 3 weeks of the season. The Saints offense has only failed to score more than 23 points twice this year and they are 1-1 in games they didnt.

Most disappointing team has to be the Falcons. All that talent and nothing to show for it. Honorary mention is the Packers.
Most surprising to me are the Bears. The defense was good last season, but it has stepped it up a notch. The offense has shown flashes of excellence and Trubiskey at times has looked like real QB. Honorary mention is the Texans.
