Leveon Bell getting less than the Pitt offers to sign with NYJ?

More guaranteed money tho with escalators that could make it worth up to 66 million. Also, radio mentioned Pitt usually works a contracts so that it's front loaded and apparently a lot of players dislike that.

Chris Long admits to smoking marijuana during his career. Apparently the drug test for it is always on 4/20.......

Some positive news. I dont know what they need a study for. The studies have been done time and again. Even the most anti-marijuana people say "well theres other alternatives you could use" when talking about marijuana as pain management which is an acknowledgement that it can be used as medicine for pain relief. There is no substance I know of that is not considered medicine just because there are other medicines that might achieve the same result. You could claim its inferior medicine to something else, but that still makes it medicine.

Judge allows lawsuit against the NFL regarding the intentional blown call in the NFCCG to proceed. This means that Goodell, league officials, and the refs can be deposed. The NFL will likely appeal but I wont b surprised if they agree to settle the case. The plantiff is only asking for 75k in order to keep it under a cap that would have it moved to federal court.

Realistically all I want is to get to the truth. Whatever that may be. The NFL will never be transparent about this unless forced to like this lawsuit is attempting to do. The more they hide and run from it the more suspicious people get. The NFL as an organization under Goodell has a serious lack of credibility.

It's being reported the Texans will trade Clowney in the next 48 hours. Probably wont happen but the Saints have Andrus Peat playing LG who probably wont be resigned because he will get LT money because he can play LT fairly well. Texans current LT is one of the worst in the NFL. Peats salary would offset Clowneys enough to fit in the Saints salary cap. Offense might suffer but good lord that defense with Clowney and Jordan wouldn't need a lot of points.

So... Andrew Luck calling it quits after 7 years. Crazy.

I think it’s a work. He’ll be back

He’s hurt so he’ll sit out this fall. He’ll show up this spring to play some xfl. It’ll get the xfl some massive attention and promotion. If he stay healthy he’ll return to the nfl next fall. Lucks dad is the commissioner of
The xfl. Vince McMahon runs the xfl. It’s a pro wrestling angle.

No way Luck plays in the XFL. Yes his Dad is the commish, but there's no way he does that. It would be putting his life and lively hood at risk for not much money. Luck was making 50+M to play the next 2 seasons in the NFL with all his bonuses. There's no way he risks that kind of money to make no money in the XFL and hope to come back to the NFL.

I mean all things considered it isn't that crazy. Luck has made about 100M in the NFL. He's 29 and could have a long career as a coach or architect and have a very healthy nest egg to fall back on. Sure he's losing at least another potential 100M or more and that seems crazy to people like us, but not everyone needs to make all the money. He's made enough money to live extremely comfortably, and his kids and grandkids will be extremely comfortable. Luck is a Stanford grad, he's a few ticks smarter than the average NFL player. He knows what he's doing, he's leaving the game because he's tired of being hurt. Maybe he comes back in a few years, maybe he doesn't. Either way I'm sure he'll be happy with his choice.

It's crazy cause he is retiring in his prime, in a time where the best QBs in the league are now playing into their 40's. Even oft-injured guys like Big Ben and Rodgers will probably play til they are 40. Calvin Johnson retiring early is crazy as well. I'm not questioning their decisions to do so, it's just wild.

There’s a reason he ‘retired’ instead of just taking a ‘leave of absence’. He’ll get paid nicely if he suits up for the xfl.

No he will not. Not close to what he would make in the NFL. There's no way he does that. It's moronic. ANdrew Luck may make a "comeback" to the XFL in a few years if he doesn't have a successful post NFL career. But I'm guessing he has an easy job as a QB coach somewhere if we wants it. Or maybe he goes into architecture, where he got his degree in.

Well it looks like the Quinn era in Atlanta is ending, and I'm guessing with it the Dimitroff era as well. Next coach and GM are set up nice with a good offense. My guess the falcons play well enough to wind up with a mid draft picka gain instead of sucking appropriately to get the high pick they need to address their weak ass lines.
