REAL FOOTBALL Thread

London wasn't my first choice... I also liked Olave and Wilson better... Pickens talent wise (could become a locker room problem though)... but I think London is very good. I think his "lack of speed" is way overstated... he's been wide open plenty but doesn't have anyone to throw to him.

He's not a big play guy, he's a classic possession receiver. When we drafted him I called him a skinny TE and I stand by that. He's best used on short and intermediate routes where a QB can check down to him to move the chains. He could be a great safety blanket for his QB but the Falcons need a game breaker. They don't have anyone to really stretch the field.

I mean the issue with London was they took Pitts the year before and it ws for a similar player. Had we taken Chase instead of Pitts, London makes sense. Because we took Pitts, I think you go for Wilson because he has that burn.

Not sure I've an NFL coaching situation like this before with all the departures

It's only 8 which I know 2019 had 8 too on my quick google. What makes it wild is that Belichick is gone who's been a fixture, and the shock Carroll split. Everyone else is largely not shocking, most of th eteams with vacancies were quite bad, picks number 1,2,3, 5, 7, 8, 13 (fired during season though), and 16. Seems like Carroll may have been a slight retirement.

Going back though. Pick 4 is Arizona, who just hired their coach to start their rebuild, 6 is Daboll who could get canned if they suck again this year.

Could be a surprise firing from a playoff team as well. You never know there but you also get a slow kick to your search as well. Carroll was the most shocking, Bill has been talked about for awhile.

Could be, but unlikely. The only ones I can see at risk are Bowles, LeFluer, and that's it. I don't think they'll be canned. Not to say there won't be a firing from a coach doing something stupid or some allegations against him (Urban Meter)

Just none of the coaches were on the hotseat before. Even the ones limped into the playoffs.

Jerry won't do it, but McCarthy and Quinn should find all their stuff packed up and thrown out the door when they come in tomorrow. Players shouldn't be safe either but real coaches don't let stuff like this happen. Lafleur isn't a bad coach IMO but he isn't great to say the least and he and his coaches just slaughtered Dallas' coaching staff today. I wish GB would have run up the score even more. Dallas scoring these last couple of garbage time TDs will make Jerry think the game was closer than it really was. Kick them all out Jerry!!!
